Going to a new school. My last one frustrated me to no end, so leaving made me pretty satisfied. :D My new school is also perfect for what I want to be in the future.

- Accomplishing a feat; visiting the first Starbucks (in Seattle) and the first Peet's Coffee (in Berkeley) in the same week.

- Graduating high school

- Going to my first convention

- Exploring around Europe (London, Paris, Scotland) and even visiting Disneyland Paris for one day.

- Discovering this show and forum

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Given that I was a foster kid most of my life, the greatest thing to happen to me...well it's a few things

  • I graduated college with honors! My grade point average was 3.57 / 4.00, which means I was mostly A's and B's for four years.
  • I got a good job and I was propelled right up into the lower middle class.
  • I moved out on my own and I'm managing myself pretty well for only 22 years old. I do the best I can :)

Of course, when I was 14, going to college wasn't even in my dreams. Things were pretty bleak until my life did a 180 so graduating college isn't the single greatest thing to happen to me but these are the best things that happened to me in 2014 :)

I refuse to let go until you're impressed.
I refuse to let go until I'm depressed.

Discovering the love of my life:

Though I absolutely must mention the three close friends I met as a result of properly pursuing particularly persistent pony passions.

I have 2 for this one. The first, is becoming a Brony, and embracing this side of me.

The second, is finding the one person I wish to spend the rest of my life with, if she lets me, that is.

Lots of great things happened, like my graduation and moving forward with all my research, but the best moment of the year has to be the reigniting of my friendship with a lady friend from MLPF just after I got turned down by my previous crush in April. She was (and is) the awesomest part of my life right now.  :yay:  I just want to thank her for being a great friend  :yay: .

I got a girlfriend two days ago! :D :D :D :D :D :D

We met on Facebook back in late August because we're both Reformed Presbyterians and she was Facebook friends with a few folks at my church, and I finally went down to meet her and her family on the 24th. And on the 30th, with her parents' permission, we officially started courting. ^_^

Becoming a Brony and finding this place. This easily beats everything i've dont this year, if not these couple of years. Really, the show and fandom, mostly this community, really just made this year great for me.

Well this past year was a game changer for me. I've taken better control of my health and as a result have lost a ton of weight (50 pounds) over the course of the year. That's probably gotta be the best thing to happen to me in 2014. I've also been much more active in animal rescue work which is a great feeling. I saw three of my foster kittens go to wonderful forever homes this year, that was pretty big too! :yay:

My girlfriend broke up with me. Yes, you read that right.

She broke up with me in January after seven months of hugs and kisses. About eight months of grief ensued. I reflected on relationships; my actions in the relationship, what relationships meant to me, what relationships should be.

Ultimately, after a low point at which it seemed that friendship was out of the picture, I layed myself bare. All the feelings I had repressed for eight months came out. I asked to put it all behind us and start again as friends. She said yes.

Ultimately, I got out of a relationship that I was uncertain about in the latter stages, learned things about myself, and am a better and happier man for it. Adversity, if you persevere and get through it, will always result in you becoming stronger.
