Greatest thing to happen to you in 2014?

Well, to wit, the high for me this year was scoring not one, but TWO Gamecube Controller Adapters...!  I picked the first one up just a few hours before my cousins' kids came over to visit for Thanksgiving, and so we had a BLAST playing Super Smash Bros!

 

That, and I finally got to release the first version of a brony game I've been working on for two years, now...!  ...Sad to say, I got little response to it...but I'm still working on it, and I won't give up!

This past year has seen me finally overcome the social interaction issues which have held me back for years. For the first time in neatly a decade, I have friends and I can hang out with a group of people without feeling like an outlier. This fandom helped somewhat but it was mostly the result of hard work and determination to be rid of the anxieties and social problems which had kept me in the shadows for so long.

 

Im happier than I've been since I don't even know when and I'm very excited for what 2015 will bring. I think that I may even be able to have a relationship someday, something which I had always dismissed as impossible until now.

i'd say quite a bit

 

-I came close to finishing my fan fic

-my YouTube channel really kicked off (earning over 70 new subscribers this year bringing me to 158)

-I found the MLP Forums

-I discovered my true sexuality

-I started watching G3 MLP

-I proved my dad wrong, that I'm able to ride my bike to and from school (its still a pain in the ass to do it though)

 

but of all the greatest experience this year was filling out my first application, but sadly no first job......

It would have to be something that happened recently.  I won a months worth of Menchies (a frozen yogurt place) in January.  I just can't believe I won!  The contest was taking a picture of a cup of frozen yogurt that I got then posting it on their facebook page.  All it was is a cup of vanilla ice cream!

Finally being able to play the final game in my favorite game series. I really hope another one is made someday.

A lot of good things happened during the year (visiting my friends on my own for a month, joined this site, became comfortable with myself, and finally liked my personality), but some negative things happened too (moved to a different state in the middle of my senior year, crashed my car into the house, still biting my nails, and lost a good friend who has taken his own life). I'm glad this year is almost over. I'm ready to start fresh.

All things considered, I think it's been a pretty good year for me. Even though I haven't had a job in over a year and living off the generosity of my partner and my parents getting divorced. I finally found some doctors and psychiatrists who could actually help me instead of just stringing me along. I think I made a pretty big improvement in my mental health and I'm able to be a lot happier.

Well for me this year hasn't been too positive; had to break up with my first girlfriend, had to be doing constant work so I can lower the price for college (Every assignment could be worth like $100 if I do it well), and a few other things I don't really feel like mentioning. I guess the highlight would be something that's not that great, but important to me. I've learned to accept who I am and the circumstances I'm in. I find it to be near impossible to find friends that really care anymore. (IRL) But at least I can be glad that I am who I am, right?

For me this year was full of ups and downs.

Had the opportunity to work abroad, bud had to come home due some family matters;

Befriended a very good person who I lost a couple of month later to a tragic and unnecessary accident;

Had a handful of jobs from which I got fired with no apparent reasons;

And finally, came across this Forum where you, wonderful people lifted my spirit, and I'm very thankful for that. :twilight:

I've gotten rid of my bulky, heavy, disgustingly-designed PC laptop and replaced it with a 13" Macbook Air. And also this year is when I started surfing. Never knew how much fun surfing was.

I would have to say it was the ginormous trip to California I took this summer.    In fact, it was probably the second best vacation I ever had.  My first, ironically, was another journey to the Golden State back in 2006.  Anyway, my roommate and I got to do little bit of everything.  First we did the San Francisco Bay area which included a trip to an A's game and hanging out with some fellow forum members in downtown San Fran.  Then later we went to Pasadena and LA for Botcon and to see some of the sites here.  Definitely a great trip and one I'll remember for years to come.
