if you have a chance to travel in time what place in time you would like to go, what event of time you would like to change?

for me i would try to go to the future and see the events and the advances of the world, to see any tragedy to make the world aware on my present day

I wouldn't go in the past because everything was chaotic ( genocides, endless wars, disease, religion etc.. )

I wouldn't go in the future because there will be no future for our species.

I would just say "Screw it" and destroy the time machine because:

Paradoxes from time travelling? I don't do that sh!t.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I'm an old fogey, too shiftless & incompetent to look the exact info up on the internet.  However.....

On or about 1867(?) Samuel Clemens (AKA, Mark Twain, my favorite author) took a cruise of several months duration on the steamship Quaker City.  He wrote about it in his book The Innocents Abroad.  There were no disasters, so joining this cruise would be a good time to get to know him.

1428(?) Joan of Arc 1st met King Louis of France.  She picked him out of the crowd (there was a fake on the throne).  She said something (no one knows what) to him that convinced him to back her in her plan to reconquer France.  This is one of the best authenticated miracles in history (as far as exact time & place).  A recording of that conversation would  be interesting.

1920s/1930s America during Prohibition and during the times when the Mafia was at its highest. I would love to see that it would be so awesome, I don't really want to change anything I would probably want to join them to see what it was like

Late Cretaceous, anywhere where there are dinosaurs. Any time with dinosaurs would be epically cool, but I would like to be there at the end of that epoch to know exactly how they became extinct.

Plus I just want to know how they looked in the flesh, what sounds they made, what colours they were, how they behaved etc.

I would take a short hop into the past (a week or more), play and win the lottery so I can pay for my kitty's surgery that will save her life.. then donate the rest of the winnings to an animal hospital.

As much as I'd love to see other times, I would have to use it to go back at about ten years ago in my life and to change my future. I'm not sure how exactly I'd pull that off without becoming myself from the time, though. =/ I'd find a way, because the life I'm living right now is... not much of a life.

If I had a time machine, I'd go to the future mainly to see what Mankind has done to either make the world better or to explode itself into extinction.

I wouldn't go to the past because of all the horrible things that happened in the past

(World Wars, Genocide, 9/11, Religious Extremism, etc.)

It would probably screw up things so I don't know if I would for sure, if I HAD to then I'd check out what the future has in store, if there is a huge disaster, new advancements in technology and so on.

Would be interesting and a bit freaky.

First, dinosaurs. Then death, because I don't see myself surviving in the time of dinosaurs. After a cosmic reset to revive myself, ancient Sumeria, Greece, the Roman Empire. I'd visit the Middle Ages to see them and then flee before being burned at the stake for using satanic magic or whatever.

Then I'd visit both World Wars because seeing humanity's lowest points seems like something one should see to truly learn why it must be avoided. Stories can only convey so much, and first-hand knowledge would probably haunt you for years to come. I'd stay away from the future because I'd like to see that for myself.

I wouldn't want to mess with the fabric of space. But if I could go back in a sort of ghost form, like in the Christmas Carol, I would do that. I would probably go back to ancient Greece, Jerusalem, and the renaissance, just because those times fascinate me, plus I would like to see Jesus in person.

I'd like to go into the future.  I'll try to be a bit of an optimist and hope we get our acts together in, say, 300 years or so.  If we don't blow up each other by then(I don't want to set the wooorld on firrre).

If I had a time machine I'd travel to the 80's to live the age when Thrash Metal music came first, I could go see my favorite bands from this time period in gigs where I could stage dive like a crazy mofo lol

I would have to say if, and I say "if" there were a way to travel in time.  I would go into the future also as the topic poster said "to see the events, and advances of the world" I would also hope that by then mankind has come together as a species to better the world, and put our petty differences aside. I would hope that we are a better people without racism, and hate, but right now it seems a pipe dream. As for changeing events in the past I would not. If you were to tamper with the past, and say kill hitler, then you just changed the timeline so you may not even be born. Say perhaps the people that died in WWll did'nt die then your grandmother, or great grandmother might not have married your grandfather. Ergo she stayed with the man that did'nt die having offsring of a different D.N.A so you were never born. So would you really change the past?

I wouldn't try to change anything, because that could have disastrous consequences far beyond the extent of my understanding. I would merely observe.

There are many different time periods I would like to visit, but most of all I would want to go back as far in time as I possible could, and as far into the future as I possibly could, to see what would be seen.

I would also love to go back in time to try to speak with people like Jesus Christ, Buddha, and Gandhi.
