movies/tv Who likes watching terrible movies?

I don't know if it's because my brain was just wired wrong from the start or if it's the effects of watching so much Monty Python as a young child, but I've always had a great love of the absurd. Well, the absurd and the downright moronic.

In general, comedies are my favorite kind of movie, but I find the best comedies to be unintentional, movies so ridiculously stupid that you can only laugh at them, the most popular ones being movies like The Room and Birdemic. I was curious if anyone else liked watching terrible movies just to make fun of them? Or if they've ever watched and made fun of it with others.

Not many people I know are into watching stuff like that, and I was curious if there was anyone here who gets a laugh at watching a really dumb movie.

And, finally, (and I know this is a little bit of an odd request considering I haven't been here very long and don't really know too many people here), would anyone like to try riffing a terrible movie with me?  I've done it before with a friend of mine, and it was a ton of fun, but he moved away and doesn't have consistent internet access, so I can't do that with him anymore. But it is something I definitely want to do again, and I've been having trouble finding people who actually want to do it. So if you're interested, let me know.

And if any are, I'll be upfront that I haven't exactly worked out how to get it all to work just yet, but having someone willing to do it will bump it up my priority list.

My boyfriend and I have made a tradition of watching stupid, silly movies.

My favorite are animated movies from different countries. There are actually quite a few on Netflix...if the story line isn't really weird/offbeat, then there are major animation issues or voice acting issues. I've actually come to like them more than actual, solid movies sometimes.  Every once in awhile though, one of the movies ends up being super high quality and genuinely pleasant to watch. It kind of shows how much of a hold the big names have on animation.

I like movies that are so bad that they're awesome, like very cheap made B-Movies where the movies script is even worse then a MLP Fanfic and the sets are fake as hell.

Movies like Plan 9 from outer space, Manos: The hands of fate, Santa Clause Conquers the Martians or The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!? are all great entertainment for me.

Watching bad movies can really fun, if they're funny bad.  There's funny bad, and just plain bad.  There has to be something funny about it, or something you can make fun of, for it to be enjoyable.  But there's something inherently fun about making fun of the crappy stuff.  That's why Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and the Angry Video Game Nerd exist.  I don't really enjoy watching bad movies that much, but I love playing bad games.  It's much more fun for me to really feel crappiness.

Really depends on the movie. If it's simply a bad movie I may watch it just out of curiosity, but if it's something that actively shits on something I love(DBEvolution or the Last Airbender) it'd be more painful to watch than laugh and mock

I know I do, part of the fun is making fun of bad movies, like the Nostalgia Critic, Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax, for I love to write riffs for things I like or find amusing. Unless it was a movie I had high expectations for like the Neverending Story 2, then I will feel bitter disappointment, other other hand, there are movies so fan they are good, like Dungeons and Dragons, it is hilarious to see Jeremy Irons' hammy acting, and The Room, the direction was bad, the acting was horrible, but I had a blast laughing through the whole movie. I will continue to enjoy watching bad movies, or commentary like MST3k, even a review from Channel Awesome, they give me a pretty good experience of what each movie is like, unless the movies is too deplorable to watch, due to boredom or obscene content, nevertheless, as long as bad movies exist, there will be an audience.

I do not normaly go out of my way to find a terrible movie to watch. No, my boyfriend does a well enough job of that. In fact sometimes i think that he purposefuly goes out of his way just to find the most horrible (and I mean horrible, like Troll 2 horrible) and play them continously. I have seen some real winners let me tell you....

Movies that are cheesy and don't care, those are the kinds of films I love. One of my favourite guilty pleasures is a low-budget SF film called Battle Beyond The Stars which probably has the distinction of being the only B-movie with an all-star cast. Films done badly but passionately always rate high in my books. Films that were bad despite taking themselves seriously are just terrible films, arduous to watch and even sit through.

Only when it's with RiffTrax or Mystery Science Theater 3000, I'll watch those all day.

Well it depends, there are trashy movies (Troma films), Unintentional comedies (The Room, The Boy Next Door, The Wicker Man), and then are movies that are so badly done, it seems like it was deliberate (Foodfight, Birdemic, and Troll 2).

It depends. If the movie is so bad, the mistakes are funny, then I'll watch it. But if it's something that makes me uncomfortable to watch, then no.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Watching terrible movies can be fucking hilarious. Some examples I remember fondly are watching Alien vs Predator with my mom, and watching edgy movies with my friends like Snakes on a Train.

I enjoy extremely dumb things almost all of the time so the same goes for bad movies XD something about that stuff thats just soooo moronic is so interesting to me. Helps that it makes for some good laughs and often times a lot of them stand out in my memory for some really stupid scene or something. Like Beavis and Butthead. That show LMAO i'll never forget about it.

This is so fun to riff on and you know it is.

To be fair, I enjoy watching bad movies with friends, because it's fun to laugh at certain movies with them.
