I'm withholding any actual judgement until the episode actually airs, but if there's a cult in it or if Fluttershy associates a lot with the Smooze, I'm gonna be really pissed.

Hmm the smooze eh?  Well I have to say that I haven't watched G1 so I don't really know anything about it, but good for those who wanted more G1 characters. (Personally after Twilight's Kingdom I want to see Scorpan.)

But besides that Pinkie and the Smooze?

Well, I like what they did with Tirek, so although I'm concerned I will reserve judgment until the episode airs.

 

Though... what if in this iteration The Smooze is just a ton of parasprites mashed together into one form?

Well, it's been 20-25 years since I used to watch My Little Pony Tales.  (I worked nights, it was on when I got home.  I'd watch the show, eat breakfast & go to bed)  I don't really  recall the details.  The fanfic History Repeats by SaddleSoapOpera has the Smooze reappearing & Rainbow Dash being sent off to get Megan (older & suffering PTSD).   It is pretty good.

Anyway, I AM very interested on this Smooze, since according to our speculation, he'll appear in 5-7 or episode 98. Speculation will most likely be wrong, but I'd assume that Smooze isn't evil from start to end.

Glad they aren't just repeating the same Blob story done by movies and the G1 interpretation. He's clearly gonna goop up the place but when was the last time you saw a blob monster attend a formal?

I believe this Smooze is going to be a different beast altogether from what was seen in the My Little Pony The Movie, and it may actually not be evil per say.

 

Should be a fun episode.

That's interesting, because I was thinking that I'm glad that he didn't seem to be some immanent-life-threat plotline (because I don't think I'll be feeling it [again]), but another fun slice of life type episode (I'm pretty sure from the clip that I'm currently feeling it!).
