How important is MLP for you?

You know, we are a pretty big community and alot of people see the show very differently. Some need to analyze the heck out of it, some see it as inspiration for their fanfics and art, some see it as silly fun, etc.

 

What i wonder is, how much of your life is invested to this show? Are you one of those guys who see it as a life style, or do you see it just as another show?

 

I think i am pretty much in the middle of it. I sometimes come here and speak about the show, speak about my opinions of certain episodes and do alot of speculation when it comes to future seasons and episodes. But it's not the only thing i do. I watch other stuff and have many other interests, because just talking about ponies would be just too boring for me.

 

So tell me, how do you feel?

Sort of the middle, I used to be really into the show, but half a year in I sort of stopped watching it (At season 2). I've been fairly involved in the fandom (Been playing on an mlp related gaming server for the past 2 years or so), but at the same time I've got quite a few other interests (Which keep distracting me from actually watching the show xD).

It's something I look forward to on the weekends, but little more than that.

 

This community, on the other hoof, means a whole lot more to me than that. I like the show, but what I like even more is to have people to talk to.

It's not super important to me though I do love it. It's mostly just fun. The show is honestly a bit too lighthearted for my taste. I prefer darker and grittier things like Dragonball Z, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and Attack on Titan etc.

It actually is very important to me as I use it as a boost of happiness during the week. When I get a lot of homework I just watch an episode or two while I work and it takes care of my stress/depression

I mostly see it as another show with a message that isn't common in the entertainment industry and characters that are likeable and I can relate to.

I don't watch a lot of TV; in fact, MLP is pretty much the only show I watch with any regularity. That's not to say I'm obsessed with it and watch it all the time, though. It's really just something I do for fun.

It is important to a great level, I actually look at MLP stuff in a regular basis to entertain myself a bit, I am not too obsessed about it though and I can do other things for entertainement.

It's kind of important to me. I do love the show and learn some things from it I never knew, as well as how much I love being in the fandom. But as time passes on, I kind of get bored with it and try out a different series that I'm curious about.

Let me admit MLP was most important to me in the summer of 2014 when I practically spent my entire summer watching MLP and looking at pony merchandise. It was important that I got into this show because things in the Gaming Industry really upset me in the past few years such as smartphone gaming taking over handhelds and stuff like that. I needed to watch a relaxing show that I've never seen before and this was it. Now I'm watching other shows like Gravity Falls and Wander over Yonder but I still watch FiM.

The show is VERY important to me; just like the Spyro fandom was back in the day. Really, I wouldn't be moderating or conversing with fellow members here if it wasn't.

I don't like to become obsessed with anything so no it's not my life by any means, I honestly don't re-watch the episodes over and over again, so yeah I don't obsess over anything and that includes MLP. so yeah usually just something I watch from time to time.

The show has proven to be violent in a nice way, but if the show ends the fans should be able to handle it and someone's gonna pick it up anyway. My little pony is nice yet it's not something to die for just to watch, enjoy, and learn from it.

While the show itself has inspired me with my own YT show, and fanart or artwork, and I do hope to make some sort of living out of my work one day, I don't view it as something that dominates my life. It is a hobby to me and something I enjoy doing.

 

Of course one day I'll get  tattoo of my OC I hope this year and yes I do collect merchs of the show and even have my own custom plushie. The same could be said for my husband, who is NOT a brony, but is a Trekkie, who collects star ships, as well as all other sorts of stuff. But we dont' let it dictate our lives. We do love the messages our shows bring to us though, things that we can nod to or get behind, that are really basic common sense for us:

I voted as 'very important', because this show is the last remnant of idealism I have, where cynicism hasn't jaded me on things yet. In practice, though, it's a show I look forward to every week and occasionally write fanfics about.

Rainbow Angelbabe has, quite honestly, changed my life - and only for the better.  I can't (and don't care to) imagine my life without her.  MLP is very important to me in the sense that it introduced me to her.  The woman I consider my soul mate.  It's not so much about the show itself, though.  This ain't like how I used to watch DBZ religiously; it's something more.
