Or in other way, what old cartoon can be as popular as MLP today if it remade in the right way ?

I think Gargoyles should have a remake that's shown on Adult Swim and follows the comics.  That would be great.

I hope Nintendo will cave in someday and push for an animated adaptation of Super Mario Bros. that's closer to the games. That's not to say the DiC cartoons aren't without their charm. They're just not a good representation of the games.

 

I think a new generation is ready to appreciate a Rugrats revival but only if they stay with the humor of the earlier 90s episodes. The later ones, especially when Dil arrived on the scene, went way overboard with the kiddy and gross-out humor.

 

Space Ghost Coast to Coast could work again on Adult Swim, seeing that Aqua Teen Hunger Force is still popular. Ren & Stimpy could also work on AS if they don't go the Adult Party route.

Well, back in the 80s & 90s they recycled a lot of the old stuff from Warner Brothers & Disney.  Loony Tunes became Tiny Tunes.  They had Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, Down in Tasmania, Tale Spin, & a bunch of others.

 

They've still got Walter Lantz's stuff (Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda, etc.)  + the Hanna Barbera stuff.  I'd like to see Snagglepuss's stage career, Pixie, Dixie, & Jinx, etc.

This is a good idea, my suggestions would be Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Dexter's Laboratory and Dragonball. I used to watch those when i was younger and would watch them again.

Almozayaf mentioned Care Bears.  The 1st batch (before all the non bears like Swift Heart) weren't too bad.  But, it brings to mind Strawberry Shortcake.  Could the world survive them & their Edible Complex in their teen years?  Plus, they have Honey Pie Pony!

   I would like to see the Care Bear family remade, the Care Bears and Care Bear Cousins, with each character developed and screen time, with some lines of dialogue, my main complaint with the original eighties series, plus SWAT Kats would be an awesome cartoon to remake, Street Fighter, the Ghostbusters, the Sylvanian Families and Paddington Bear.

It did. It was called Batman Beyond & Justice League. And I know they came up with at least 3 new batman series since then. 

 

Anyways, I'd love to see Road Rovers again. That was a pretty cool show during my childhood. Animaniacs & Freakazoid would be great but reboots would probably strip them of what made them good. The humor in those shows was way ahead of it's time, and a reboot would probably scrap that. Gargoyles could be made into a gothic, gritty new show. Same w/ Swat Kats Static shock would be pretty cool, as by comparison to the rest of the DC animated Universe, it was largely forgetful. Alienators Evolution took a mediocre movie and turned it into an entertaining series. It'd be nice to see that continued on. Does cut out animation count? If so, let's see what Angela Anaconda would become with a reboot.  More serious revamps of the shows Mon colle knights, medabots, * & monster rancher would be an interesting see.

This show isn't that old but the animation could be improved quite a bit, and there was at one point an actual TV series based on it but then it got cancelled (damnit!) It is quite an enjoyable and peculiar show, however and it's impressive that most the work was all done by one person: Making Fiends by Amy Winfrey.

 

Also goddamnit will they just start making new episodes of My LIfe As A Teenage Robot already I was into it before I started watching MLP

My favorite cartoon was CatDog and i think it would do good as a remake.

 

Also a reboot of Invader Zim.
