True, personal experiences that left you TERRIFIED

Sometimes, we wind up in a scary situation that's much like a horror film.

When I was, probably not even 13, I lived in a trailer. I lived with my grandparents and my aunt. My aunt had moved out, and I got to move into her bigger bedroom, which was in the front of the trailer, facing the road.

Well, I was told to take the trash out, one night. I walked out of my room, into the kitchen, grabbed the trash, and out the front door. I was climbing down the porch's steps when I noticed a man had been staring through my window. It was my aunt's ex-boyfriend. The rustling of the trash bag startled him, and he ran for it. He would be the type of guy that would be a creep, or a pedo.

I can no longer stand looking out windows at night. I don't even like to think of them, anymore. My mind keeps imagining there's always someone out there, staring in...

How about you guys? Any traumatizing events that you personally experienced, and still fret over?

I was walking home with my service dog, and a group of 7 guys started following me for 10 blocks. Most women are use to being street harassed, and I'd dealt with being harassed before, and I was hoping that ignoring them would do the trick. They started hooting, and saying rude things, and it steadily started to escalate to the point they were shouting at me about how they were gonna rearrange my organs with their dicks (and some other stuff I can't repeat in polite company). I have to go through a very quiet nature area in order to get home, the alternative route being in an alley. I told the guys to get the fuck away from me and they just laughed. I was halfway along the path home when one of the guys grabbed my arm really hard to stop me, and my service dog turned and just tore the shit out of him, and had him by the arm on the ground and was shaking him like mad. The guy and his friends were so shocked they ran off, but I can't even begin to think what would have happened if my dog hadn't been their to protect me.
I'm still furious that no one came out of their home to help me before it got to that point, and I called the police when I got home and they told me 'well, they didn't rape you, so theirs not really anything we can do, It'll be a alot of work to do and theirs no witnesses or evidence.'  :okiedokielokie:

As a teen, I experienced several awful experiences with people at the streets. From forcibly accompanying under the pretense of being pals to lend money, to actual threats of physical harm. As a result, I became quite wary and sociopathic around people

Back when I first learned to ride a bike. I was pedaling along and just zoomed out across the main street that runs the length of my home town. An air-horn blared.  I had shot out right in front of an eighteen wheeler! I am not exaggerating or joking. I was so close to it that if I stock out my right hand, I could have ran it right across the front grill. The engine sound was deafening! The wind of the truck passing almost knocked me over. I quite literally came within inches of dying! When I got the the other side of the street. I managed to get off of the bike without falling. I was shaking like a leaf and just stood there next to my bike for several minutes. Eventually I walked it home. Nobody ever knew why it took me a couple of weeks before I rode it again.
