For me its stuck at 'working' phase... hasnt even fully begun, most likely... Microsoft might not have enough bandwidth to support the massive amount of devices which are performing a download of the new operating system right now

I got prompted to start the upgrade at around 6:30 this morning. After waiting for around an hour or so for it to upgrade. I've got to say, this final build is so much better than what I've seen using the Insider Previews. Good Job, Microsoft.  :sunbutt:

Why did it worked so slow in my laptop ? :'c

Had to reinstall window 8.1.

I guess it's because my hardware shucks.

I just have one question for this update: Will I still have all my files and all my software after it finishes upgrading?

Yep. it does.  ;)

I'll be testing it out on my laptop before I make the jump on my Desktop. I'm hoping that I like it, because Windows 7 (What I have on my Desktop. I have 8.1 on my laptop) is starting to get really outdated.

I'm just waiting to get the Email saying it's ready to download for me o3o

In my opinion, this relatively well rounded OS. I do like everything is "right  there" in the start menu, hell even the downloads folder which is a plus because it wasn't easy to get to, even in 7. I do like notification feels a lot more like notification menu and everything is easy to get. Oh and thank Gallifery, thank you for the window apps because that was a major gripe I had in 8/8.1.  I could tell a lot of hard work and thought went into the OS and thank the universe for that.

IMO, if you 8/8.1 or even 7 upgraded to 10 ASAP,

All data is kept when upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 on my computer/laptop, it should be fast enough with the OS to run any kinds of apps in minimized windows including the Microsoft Store. It take about like a few hours or so to finish this upgrade, and it finally worked! :)

Huh, still haven't gotten the notification to upgrade.

I don't know how the process works on the order of who gets the notifications, but I have no idea when mine will get here.

You're not alone. I never got the notification today, so I may have a feeling that Windows 10 may only work for select Windows (7 and 8) users, so I might think that not everyone's getting Windows 10.

To the ponies in this thread who have not received their Windows 10 upgrades yet. Please do keep in mind that Microsoft is rolling out Windows 10 in waves.

They're doing this so they don't end up with millions of dollars worth of dead servers.

If you haven't received your upgrade yet, be patient. You'll get it, and you'll get it most likely very soon. (Who knows, maybe, for some of you, come midnight tonight, your PC will start spitting out alerts saying that Windows 10 is ready.)

Also, I am not a Microsoft employee (I wish I was). I happen to know a lot about Windows 10 and Microsoft's plan for Windows 10 because I've been following Windows 10's development very closely since its first Technical Preview builds.

And thus, I took matters into upgrading it manually in the end.

I didn't reserve the upgrade :P I don't see any reason not to stick with Windows 8 for now, I can wait till I get my next computer to get 10 or 24 or whatever it is by then XD ^_^ Who knows, I mean Internet Explorer is dead now in favor of Sparta, maybe by the time I actually have to get a new computer it'll be called Borg 42 or something like that.

I got Windows 10 on my laptop, and it's working fine and dandy. Pretty good so far, and Cortana is fun.

However...when I tried to get it on my PC, the install stalled at the login screen to finish the install, and wouldn't go past. Then, it locked my hard drive up, so I couldn't remove shit or do a restore. I had to wipe my hard drive and reinstall windows 8.1 that came with my PC. Thanks microshaft.

Feel free to add me on steam if you want to play something. Also don't be afraid to message and talk to me. I've had bad luck when I start a conversation, so I more then likely won't start one.

Anyone an expert with this and can make an informed suggestion? Worth making the switch from 7? I skipped 8/8.1 for reasons everyone knows already, but I don't know enough about 10. 10 seems to be a fusion of 7 and 8/8.1, but what's missing? What would I be losing from 7 besides Media Center?

Windows 10 is faster than 7 and better (feature-wise) than 8 and 8.1.

I personally recommend that you upgrade because, after all, It's free! :P

Ads in the taskbar, a keylogger that sends usage data to Microsoft, and no compatability for the 150 games I have. Well sign me up, it's not like the jump from 7 to 8 was a complete failure or anything.

All of which is bullshit. No ads, no keylogger, and everything I have Steam works fine.

The ONLY problem I'm having is it won't work on my desktop.
