It's incredibly saddening to hear that a man this young has died. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, Nintendo fans, and the company. RIP, Mr. Iwata.

Sad to hear.  He seemed fine during the Nintendo conference at E3, and that was barely a month ago. 

 

Also, on his Wikipedia page (which is almost immediately updated when a big named person's death is confirmed) someone wrote under date of death as "Gods don't die." It's been changed back now, but I thought that was funny despite the somber news.

He made Kirby, Earthbound, and Smash into what it is today.

 

It took a while to sink in, but now...I'm struggling not to shed tears.

There's not much I can say that hasn't already been said, but Iwata was one of the most influential men in one of if not the most influential compaies in the gaming industry.

 

I've especially enjoyed the Mother series, beating the first two games and partially playing through the third.

 

This added with the fact the announcement of his passing was almost spontaneous, it's pretty hard-hitting.

Sorry if I offend ppl but I need to say this. Nintendo is gonna end eventually just like atari. The "new" Nintendo games are just complete rehash crap. I wish they could start a new fresh franchise with new characters. That could save Nintendo.
