I love fitness and healthy eating.  I like to eat a lot of fresh fruit.  Physical activity lifts my mood, even when I feel my most depressed.  It's often hard to get motivated to start, but if I force myself to do a few pushups, I instantly feel better.  I like to do some resistance training about once a week, and go for long walks and swim several times a week.  When it comes to resistance training, I keep it simple.  I don't have time to learn some complicated routine.  I just do simple things like pushups and situps, as many as I possibly can, until I can't do any more.

What's the easiest way to start a routine? I've started, but have trouble maintaining it. I'm extremely overweight for my age/height so I need to do something about it asap. Any help is appreciated. :)

The problem with that is your body will get used to your same routine, so you will have to change it up every so often. Keep up the good work though!!

I get up at 5AM every morning and go for a 2 hour long power walk down the coastline near my house, grabbing some food and drink from the local shop on my way back.

During the day, I'll go for a run at least once and my shifts at work in the evenings usually also help me get some exercise as it involves a lot of running around

Can't say my diet is amazing, I rarely am able to sit down with a proper meal nowadays so rely on ready made microwave versions of many foods  :P

  • 2 weeks later...

So I'm planning to do daily walks and morning yoga routines. I'm personally not a fan of intense exercise but I really want to lose my belly. I weigh 160 lbs last time I checked and I want to get down to 120 or 115 lbs at least. Will all the aforementioned help? Will it also help if I just do 50 sit ups every day except on weekends?

I could use some input. Thanks in advance <3

To put it simply, you get fit in the gym, you lose weight in the kitchen.

It's nearly impossible to out exercise a bad diet so that there is enough of a calorie deficit to loose fat. Gaining a higher level of fitness surely helps and the more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn, but you've got to mainly focus on eating right if you want to lose.

1. Walk everyday for 1 hour.

2. Eliminate all sugar (fruit is fine), shitty food and starchy carbs from your diet.

3. Drink water. Lots of it. At least 8-10 glasses of water per day.

4. Weight train + HIIT.

5. Profit.

Try to stay away from products with high amount of sugar in them. Sugar convert to fat.

And walk a lot. Walk at a fast pace.

Have at least one day a week where you can just get to at whatever. At least in the beginning, to help you to adjust. The rest of the week, eat really dry boring (but healthy) food
