spoiler Why keep it a secret? (Season 5 Spoilers)

In a future episode, Pinkie will have to keep a secret from Twilight, which has been revealed to involve Shining Armor and Cadance. It's been implied that the secret is a baby. But why keep something like that a secret? Personally I think Shining Armor is just being playful with his sister.

Maybe Shining is a bit too worried that his Sister will freakout about the concept, of her being an aunt very soon. She probably gets paranoid of all the new responsibilities of what it means to be an aunt.

 

(Trust me, i've been there as a 2 time uncle. )

Maybe they planned to reveal it to their family all at once. Perhaps they were waiting for a time when all their family members were together like a family gathering before going "We have something to tell everyone..." and Pinkie just stumbled upon it purely by accident. Remember, she was around when Mrs. Cake was pregnant with the twins, so there's a chance she would recognize the signs. 

 

Alternately, it could end up being that Pinkie just thinks Cadance is pregnant, but that it turns out to not be the case and was something completely different. Complete with utterly confused/embarrassed Cadance and Shining Armor at the mention of a baby. Even if Cadance is pregnant, I doubt "Skyla" would ever even appear in the show, considering how long a pregnancy takes and that the show has tried to establish that just over a year has passed in the span of 100 episodes.

After the way Pinkie made such a big deal out betraying a friends trust in "Green Isn't Your Color"? I dunno. Seems kind of out of character for her to have a hard time keeping a secret.

 

That being said, even if it was out of character, it sounds like a fun premise for an episode!

Whatever the secret is, from a clip from the episode they showed during the promo for the remainder of season 5, the secret seemed to get Pinkie excited and she said she couldn't wait to tell Twilight, so i HIGHLY doubt it's a fight.

Depends on how it's explained in the episodd. If the secret is Cadence is pregnant like everyone has been saying, maybe they want to wait to announce it to everyone at once. Why they give it to Pinkie is probably because she has shown to take secrets very seriously.

There is a simple explanation.

 

Maybe she hasn't confirmed for sure that she is in fact pregnant and only believes that she might be at this point.  It could be that she's keeping it from Twilight in case she isn't pregnant, so she isn't disappointed.
