Envy 6,161 June 29, 2019 Share June 29, 2019 (edited) Whoever ends up getting the Democratic nomination will get my vote. Even if it's Biden, who I really don't much care for. Even the worst Democrat is better than the piece of trash that is currently in office. At the end of the day, the Supreme Court is so important for the long-term future, and Trump/the Republicans are willing to play very dirty to get the worst people possible into the SC. There is no excuse whatsoever to let them take anymore. Hopefully things will go good and we'll get a better Democrat on the ballot, but... This is America. I no longer have any faith in the country whatsoever after the 2016 election. I have no faith that whoever gets up there as the Democratic candidate will win, either, because the left is so stupidly divided. They'll continue fighting for a pure candidate while letting the country burn to the ground. The sad thing is... Unless somehow we've moved to New England in a year, my vote won't even count toward crap, because my state is solid Republican (even for the immoral monstrosity that is Trump) and popular vote in general means nothing, so... Yay. It's great to feel like I have no power at all. Edited June 29, 2019 by Envy Everything needs more woodwind!

Misty Gust 708 June 29, 2019 Share June 29, 2019 I would be going Republican, and that means Trump which I'm not completely thrilled with but it's him or throw it away on a third party.
Here No Longer 5,276 June 29, 2019 Share June 29, 2019 (edited) I like Tulsi the most at this point, though I'd also vote for Bernie or Yang. They seem to be the only three of this huge race that seem to have any concern for their constituency. Normal. For democrats, the rest are all corporate and Warren is also a traitor to her constituency. For republicans, it's not even worth my time to really even look at this point. I've only ever heard of one republican I really invested much any interest in, but that's because he was more like the republicans of 60 years ago that were actually not fringe right lunatics. Prospekt 11,018 July 2, 2019 Share July 2, 2019 No idea. I identify as a libertarian so naturally I like Bill Weld, but he has no chance of beating Trump for the Republican Party nomination. I think he's very sane but on social issues he's too liberal for most Republicans. As for the Democrats... Tulsi Gabbard is alright. I think she's the best in the field when it comes to foreign policy, and she's not as far to the left as folks like Bernie Sanders, whose ideas are now becoming mainstream among Democrats in the age of Trump. I like the independent Howard Schultz, but I'm now wary of electing billionaires and it seems like he may not run for president after all. As for the Libertarian Party? What a crappy roster. Even I, a third party supporter, think all of these guys are either lunatics or just out of touch with the current state of the world. Justin Amash has expressed interest in switching over from the Republican Party, and I'm absolutely a fan of his. But the Libertarian Party is filled with so much toxic infighting that I doubt he could win the nomination. 2 Signature by Kyoshi

Misty Shadow 7,866 July 2, 2019 Share July 2, 2019 I don't care about politics, but I'm probably voting for Trump next year. I like most of what he's done for our country and I don't see any other alternatives right now. I do admit that I like Andrew Yang. However, I've accepted the unfortunate fact that he's not going to win because of the way the DNC works. I've also grown to accept the fact that I can't be completely bipartisan my whole life and that there's no way to please people who would hate me for something as stupid as a political decision. 1 Merry Wishentine from Pipp Petals! Anneal 2,197 July 2, 2019 Share July 2, 2019 Ideally Sanders or Warren. I have no love for Biden or Booty Judge Buttigieg who continue to cling onto 90s Third Way centrism, and Harris is too sketchy for my tastes. Bill Weld or John Kasich (who hasn't completely declared candidacy yet)? Bill Weld is actually not a nutjob and supports LGBT rights and abortion, and he has done decently well when he was formerly MA's governor. He's also much friendlier on undocumented immigrants than Trump is. John Kasich is also somewhat alright with a good track record as Ohio's governor and is a bit closer to what Republicans originally were when they were sane conservatives and not Tea Party/alt-right crazies.

Kasich to me just sounds more like Tea Party lite, but from what I've seen of Weld's positions, he's really not all too bad. Though I don't agree with several of his positions, he seems respectable enough and for me a decent compromise with the far right, corporate, almost neo-Nazi BS that's been infesting the Republican party since the 80's (it really isn't a new phenomenon). Like a few things I don't agree with him on include: the death penalty, affirmative action, trade, and welfare. Though for affirmative action, I'm probably one of the few people supporting the likes of Bernie that opposes it, because I see how it hurts everyone including the people it even hires, and the other three are to be expected I guess. Roughtek 54 July 5, 2019 Share July 5, 2019 Most likely Trump, i right leaning, and in reality Trump is his own, he just had to run under one or the other. But i just dont like the way the Democratic party is going, very socialist, and take my money that i work hard for in "taxes" and give it to people that dont work, to illegals for full coverage healthcare, but i have to pay for mine. This free healthcare and free college...who is going to pay for it, if you think government your wrong, its us in taxes. And a government runned healthcare, scares me, look at the VA, they just basically drag their heels hoping veterans die, you really want that for everyone else! But the current lineup of Dems are either a HELL NO or I just never heard of them.

What would you rather have? Everyone pay a tiny bit more in taxes each year or have people be over $10,000+ in medical debt? Roughtek 54 July 6, 2019 Share July 6, 2019 (edited) You want healthcare, go get it, but I shouldn't have to pay for everyone else. Same with college, you want it, you pay it. I didnt want it and i make $65k a year, and I'm going to a job that base minimum guarenteed is 71k. So you dont HAVE to go to college to get a decent paying job. And guess what, good paying jobs also have decent healthcare. But again, I shouldn't have to pay for everyone else. And also I live in CA, I'm already taxed to death as it is.
