Over the year I've seen Mr. Enter get a ton of hate by people. Commentaries, blogs dedicated to hating the guy, etc. I know his reviews have flaws but I still enjoy watching them and hearing his opinions.

I have personally haven't heard of this guy so I have no opinion, but to those who make hate videos are trolls and should be brushed off one's shoulder

(edited)

Might have something to do with that time he gave away a SpongeBob writer's Twitter name and caused them to be harassed by fans who hate the newer episodes.

He learned from his mistakes and realized it was wrong for him to do that. Edited by Luna Fan

The fact his fans take his word on animation like it is gospel. In which this animation will explain how a lot of them act.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDo2v1WR0a8

The Show not Tell point.

He often complains about the sound effects etc. but doesn't show us examples.

His 9oz mouse episode (can't find it lol) is an example of my point.

The fact that he has a patreon and hasn't even moved from Windows Movie Maker to at least improve his video quality. Which basically just shows his audience and fans that all he really sees them for is for money. In my opinion if he at least cared for his fans and content he would at least use their money to improve his work, but there is no difference in his content before the patreon switch over and before.

The fact dark British humour just goes over his head entirely and gets the whole point of it completely wrong.

See this entire video.

Which I understand him not getting but instead of him being honest about it, he tries to shove his explaination about my countries humour which is just completely incorrect.

-EDIT-

Oh and don't forget his ego. He is basically no different to some guy on Metacritic, yet because he has his fanbase he has his head high in the clouds.

I'll leave you with some words from Sammy

I'm not sure what the general opinion of Mr. Enter is, but the reason why I dislike him is because he is a really negative critic. Most of his new Admirable Animation videos only exist so he has an excuse to talk about something he hates, he always talks about how shitty Family Guy/Spongebob/MLP G3/whatever is rather than highlighting some of the decent things about it and most of all, he names writers he despises which leads his rabid fanboys to go and attack said writers. Sure, he apologised in the end, but it is still really childish. You can't excuse such petty behaviour just because you like him.

This is something that applies to me, but he tone of his videos also bother me. He always sounds really upset or monotone, which does not make for a fun and intriguing video. Not just that, but I also hate that dumb "viewer discretion is advised" card. It's a cheap excuse to scare off your audience, and he does that over the smallest of things, namely the rainbow scene in his Newborn Cuties review.

But please, if you like Mr. Enter, don't take this too personally. I'd say it's best for you to listen to some of these haters so you can actually understand why he isn't perfect, rather than be biased and get upset over people who dislike him.

I don't get upset over people disliking Enter. If you simply dislike him that's fine, It's just the fact that people downright hate him. This one guy I came across named Clay Claymore makes pretty much nothing but commentaries about how much he hates Enter. And I'm like, if you hate the guy why do keep watching him?

He focuses too much on characters having negative traits rather than lazy or incompetent writing, he tends to dwell on insignificant points that could be explained in one short sentence, his idea of what makes something good and bad is oddly specific and rigid, his editing is lazy, and he seems to take everything too seriously.

Personally he comes across as whiny, incredibly stingy, easily offended, easily upset, and has a tendency to take things a too seriously. And then a few times he gets too personal with a lot of writers which causes his rabbid fans to go to town on their Twitter accounts. A good amount of his animated atrocities aren't even that bad(looking at you Lupe's Revenge) and really comes across as him either not getting the joke or taking things too seriously(which makes me really glad he doesn't do South Park)

When he's none of the above he can actually be decent to watch(I actually enjoy his Admirable Animations from time to time), but for me that's usually far and few in between which is pretty evident with his Atrocity vs Admirable ratio

I don't hate him. That said, there's plenty to dislike.

He has one of the most annoying voices on the internet, and even though he upgraded his mic recently, he still has abysmal audio quality and is quite possibly the laziest editor I've ever seen. I just loaded up one video to see if he's improved, and lo and behold, he leaves in an outtake only two minutes in to the video. I'm certainly no expert, but I've edited video for school, and even I could do better than that. It's not even a matter of skill, all he would need to do is watch his own video once to pick up a mistake like that.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes he can offer a unique perspective, or an interesting view on a work. But he takes everything so god damn serious. He can't even pick on a low-hanging fruit like Family Guy without mistaking Seth MacFarlene's edgelord sense of humor for an actual moral. And how he makes such a big deal over Plankton "attempting suicide" in that Spongebob episode... just... really, man. For someone so lackadaisical about the quality of his own work, he's awful quick to exaggerate any flaw he finds in somebody else's.

I've seen some reasons here, and some of them make sense, others don't add up. Specifically the criticism about his fans, which is something he has no control over. That's like saying you hate MLP because some bronies go too far, neither are complaints about Mr. Enter or MLP, but the people who watch him/it. Showing a writer's Twitter account, yeah that was going too far, and Mr. Enter himself admitted that he shouldn't have done that, and I haven't really seen him include the names of the writers in his reviews for almost a year. I think more of the hate started around the time he reviewed Troll, which was probably his most controversial video, other than the one with the writer's Twitter account. I'm glad that review was controversial, because it talked about a subject I feel people should debate about more (similar to how the Nostalgia Critic's video about Thank You for Smoking). Of course if you don't like Mr. Enter's reviews, that's fine, I have no problem with that. People are going to have different opinions.

While I get that it's unfair to judge something based on the nature of their fanbase; with a fanbase as passionate(for lack of a better term) as MrEnter's he has a tendency of doing things that he really shouldn't due to the way he reacts.

I mean the guy posts a video(one of his most popular no less), and openly attacks a writer of an episode he doesn't like while sharing the writer's twitter account, soon after his fanbase completely goes to town on the guy on Twitter. I seriously don't get how he thought that was ever a good idea in the first place. Yeah, he apologized, but it was something he should've never done in the first place

Emer Prevost (another YouTuber I enjoy watching) talked about Mr. Enter in one of his recent live streams and addresses the problems with him. I agree with a lot of points made here.

Damn, I didn't know so many people hate MrEnter? While I do think he takes shit too seriously a lot of the time, and I don't agree with everything he says, I still enjoy him ripping into shitty cartoons. And I actually find his videos pretty humorous at times...

I used to be a big fan of his content and still enjoy his videos from time to time but tbh he comes across as very arrogant. He seems to think alot of his preferences are golden rules of comedy when in actuality most people don't really care about the things he cares about. For example he's addressed Squidward/Meg torture porn, whilst I personally don't find it funny either I know fans of Family Guy who actually enjoy Meg being the butt of jokes in the series including my sister and brother in law so it offends me when he talks down modern Family Guy fans as if they're stupid.

Damn. I'm absolute shit at video editing and my sound quality is better than that. I at least try to make my videos sound good, as well as get good at editing.

I watch most of his stuff, but I'm not a blatant fanboy and I do think he could do with losing the arrogance, and no matter how much you hate something (Modern Family Guy, Spongebob, Breadwinners) there's no reason to attack a writer or talk down fans of said shows. (Though I do think that Modern Family Guy and Spongebob are terrible and lost what made them funny in the first place)

That said, I've seen some of the stuff said about him by haters, and I think a lot of his detractors need to grow up, and not resort to insulting/trolling/whatever.

TheMysteriousMrEnter is a classic example of living long enough to see oneself become the villain. He started off his channel mostly calm, insightful, not overly negative, and not arrogant. If you watch his MLP reviews, most of them, while you may agree or disagree with his opinions, you can understand where he's coming from.

That said, he went from an insightful critic to a crusader in a snap. Ever since he started Animated Atrocities and Admiral Animation, he seems to be on this crusade to prove how horrible or how good some new/modern cartoons are, and all of the insightfulness that he once was good at portraying turned into meaningless slurs from the mouth of a whiney, pessimistic scrooge. It's kind of like that one guy you know who talks about one thing for a little bit, and he keeps talking and talking and talking more and more about it until you get lost and you want him to go away.

The biggest problem is that people treat his world like gospel, and if one publicly and shamelessly disagrees with Mr Enter's view, an onslaught of hate is coming your way, because Mr. Enter's clearly an expert in writing and logic. Back when I watched his MLP Reviews, I, admittedly, acted the same exact way. I took his word as gospel, and anyone who said otherwise was completely wrong, and I would direct them to Mr. Enter's video because he was always right. Now, I've learned to be my own man.

He once talked about Seasonal Rot in cartoons and how it can really make them terrible. If only he could see what he would eventually turn out to be.

I wouldn't say he's hated I'd say more middle ground.

He isn't completely hated seeing as he's built a fanbase of over 140K subs but yeah, I have seen several commentaries on him and mentioning him on a cartoon forum can cause a flame war.

I think the reason he does get hate is that he's very opinionated in the way he views cartoon. And if you're opinionated on the internet, you'll most likely attract people who are very opinionated on you.

That, and he build a reputation of getting overly angry and lashing out at writers of Spongebob or MLP saying that they needed to get fired or blacklisted for writing lackluster episodes of said shows. Thankfully, he said he was working on doing that less.

So I see why he's hated. He also has fans that just parrot what he says, but I don't really find that a big deal seeing as practically every reviewer is like that.

And I'm saying this as someone who is subbed to him.

Though, some of his hatedom gets just as annoying as his fans. They call his fans Enterbots. Please, that term is as stupid as hasdores or any other stupid term you give to a group of fans you don't like.
