Kyreth 194 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 I'll stick with brony. Regardless of what it is, I think the name should encompass all of us, we shouldn't be divided. Fair enough the word has bro in it, which is obviously masculine, but I think the components of the word have been lost behind its meaning. There is some part of me that says 'If you get to be called pegasisters I want to be a bronicorn!' I can't make signatures. Sooo... yeah
5guysburgersnfries 216 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 Well me and my friend call eachother bronys, but there's a guy in our school who calls us pegasisters because 'brony' refers to males. I don't mind either one really, they're both awesome but I guess brony is just easier to say.
Applesmack & Brandy 121 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 I usally just use Bronies when I'm refering to the all fans, but I use Pegasis when refering to an specific female fan. "The Southern Gentleman"
StarGazer 129 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 I like brony better because I'm not just a pegasus, I'm everypony To me pegasister is like calling someone a dudette. Just too much.
Saiko 67 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 I use Bronies, Pegasister and Pegasis for girls as synonyms, but I think it's okay to call girls Bronies (some of them seem to have issues with it) so I voted for this option.
Yellow Diamond 7,569 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 Since I'm male, the term "Brony" doesn't feel very alien to me; however, I could well imagine some women feeling uncomfortable with the term given its masculine roots. The fact that a large portion of Bronies are indeed male means its usage will likely continue to be pervasive. On my own end, I think it is already a tongue-in-cheek title, so that it applies to female fans isn't too great an issue since "Brony" is not supposed to be a terribly accurate description but instead a reference to the irony of adults enjoying MLP. For the record, I think "Pegasis" is pretty clever. Nevertheless other members have already highlighted the possible confusion in its usage. "Bronette" sounds too forced, and undermines the novelty of "Brony." "Pegasister" and "Filly" don't sound as though they are in the spirit of the naming conventions. In the end, I would refer to both male and female fans as Bronies; if a female fan outright stated her discomfort, I would respect it, and subsequently search for a term with which she would be most comfortable. Marshmallow 1,137 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 I have gotten used to the term "pegasister". I used to find it silly and dislike it. I used it, but only as a joke. But now it seems to have stuck... Prince Lightning Da Cute 619 February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 You call them anything but Brony because you won't call your sister your brother so don't call your fellow Bronies Pegasisters and vise virsa I'm the Son of Celestia And when i'm King who else did you think would be Queen? Queen Cassie 3,057 February 2, 2012 Share February 2, 2012 I think I must agree with Arylett. I was rather unaware of the term's initial origins in /b/ from 4chan, and since I rather despise that place, I really would prefer not to use any term from there. I've never much liked the term brony anyway. I have occasionally used it, in particular circumstances where appropriate or where it needed to be used, but I generally prefer to use the term pony fan rather than brony, because pony fan is gender neutral and still just as descriptive. It's admittedly vague and not quite as connected to the show, but in almost any context where I'd use the term pony fan it would be rather clear what I'm referring to, so I don't see that as a problem. Pony Joe 583 February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 I'll usually just refer to everyone as a Brony, but when I need to specify, I'll use Pegasister. Others I've heard are Bronette and Bronita, but neither are that appealing to me. That's really all there is to say on the matter.
Tom The Diamond 1,830 February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 Brony. I am one of those who believe 'Brony' is a gender neutral term.
Strafe 594 February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 pegasister, girl brony. Both can be used and people will know what you're talking about. "The Gods envy us. Luurilka 325 February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 I prefer having "brony" apply to both males and females so one can just say "bronies" instead of "bronies and pegasisters" when talking about the general people. And "brony sounds better than "pegasister".
