Favorite Cold Weather Food!

Kyoshi Frost Wolf

Recommended Posts

Everyone loves food, right? Food is pretty good stuff. There are soooo many different kinds for different occassions too! With winter being in full force in my state and the coldness hitting us with intensity, it makes me think about lovely foods that are perfect for cold weather!

We can discuss that. What are some of your favorite foods for a chilling dayt? ^__^

I am gonna start off with a classic:

Chicken Noodle Soup. This stuff is nearly impossible to beat on a cold winter's day. : D Add in a bit of pepper and crackers for dipping and we have food perfection. :3

S'mores for sure! One of my favorite foods ever and is one of the best winter foods ever. S'mores dip is pretty good too, all things considered.

I am an experienced cook, musician and care worker though, so that's something.

A lot of you are going with soup. I guess I'll put another soup option up there.

Breakfast:
Pancakes. And Waffles. And Crepes. Especially Crepes. Crepes are good. Did I mention I like Crepes? Well I like Crepes.

Lunch:

Cheddar Broccoli soup, with a nice bit of Pumpernickel to go with it. Perfect lunch, I must say.

Dinner:

Some sort of Seafood (Boiled Crab/Shrimp/Lobster), or some sort of pasta-influenced dish (Chicken Alfredo <3).

Dessert:

Cheesecake. I don't care what anyone says. It's my favourite dessert, and will be forever.

Breakfast: Um, probably something quick and easy, like a bowl of cereal with some milk. I realize milk is generally cold, and drinking a lot of it in the morning makes me freezing, but then I can snuggle up with some blankets later to warm up. Also I grab a cup of morning coffee... need that energy boost.

Snack: Yeah, I snack between breakfast and lunch. Big deal. Probably something like crackers or peanuts...

Lunch: Soup. My favorite soup is chunky clam chowder, but I'll go for a good cream of mushroom soup as long as I have crackers. Navy bean and bacon soup is also a pretty good one. Come to think of it, I like pretty much all soup... Also I'll grab a cup of apple cider. Warm apple cider. The non-alcoholic type.

Snack: Okay, I should probably cut down on my snacking habits. More crackers, or if we have them, raisins.

Dinner: Whatever mom makes for me, as long as it's tasty. Usually something like ham, turkey, or chicken, but my favorite would be corn beef sliders and mashed potatoes. Mmm-mmm! Or we could always go out and grab some burgers from Burger Joint. It's a local restaurant that's been in business for 30 years, so you know they've gotta be damn good. Gimme some hot cocoa and I'm set.

Dessert: Chocolates. Preferably dark chocolate, although I'll go with almost any kind except Belgian. Funny story -- my dad got me a whole tin of Belgian chocolate just to prank me. Since I know he hates milk chocolate, and since his birthday is like right after Christmas, I got him a 5-pound bar of milk chocolate to get back at him. XD

Snack: Yes, I snack after dinner, okay? Jeez... probably more raisins or maybe an apple.

Midnight-ish: Um, well... I tend to get really hungry around midnight, so yeah. I'll scavenge what's left of dinner -- a roll, a bagel, a helping of mashed potatoes, etc. And then I'll pop myself a bag of popcorn, find a good movie or YouTube series, and stay up until the wee hours of the morning.

I am going to say another one that I just remember, this one might be a bit odd to some, but I absolutely love a nice chocolate milkshake on a cold winter's day. :) The coldness of the weather combined with the milkshake makes it feel sooooo good in the throat.

I love me some Cheese Fondue whenever it's gotten cold where I am x3.

Also Hot Chocolate or just hot milk with cookies. If you don't like that don't even think of marrying me xD

In Singapore, it's hot all year long.

When it's slightly colder, my favorite food is still Salmon Sashimi

And ice water.

And crushed ice with syrup

Ice cream. Dead serious.

My boss is a bit of a troll. So, every year at Winter, when it's below zero degrees outside, ice cream always gets marked down by 4 or 5 dollars (and not just the stuff left over from Summer; ALL of it).

On the plus side, it doesn't melt. Besides, gotta toughen up. I spend most days outside, carrying groceries, so I am acquainted to -20 degree weather. A little ice cream won't hurt.

I love ice cream in winter too. it's like you're eating snow! ..heh, As far as "trolling," I think marking down ice cream in winter makes sense, because it's at such low demand the prices should go lower to make sales at least.

And -20? Where you live dude? I thought it was cold today, and it was 20...above.

Well, that was a slight exaggeration. I live in North Dakota, and it's typically 0 degrees outside this time of year. The wind chill knocks it down to negative numbers. On a bad day, it can hit -60.

I mean its gotta be raman right? Like I don't think I would have survived the winters without that crap.
