What Games do you Never Intend on Playing?

Anything from the COD or Battlefield series most likely. I despise multiplayer games and aside from Halo 1-3 I don't really like shooters all that much anyway. It's a pretty safe bet I won't play many FIFA or PES titles either. In fact, I most likely won't play the vast majority of games coming out until years from now because I don't game as much as I used to anymore, and when I do I play older games like Skyrim.

Oh, and if Half-Life 3 is ever released I likely won't play that either because I got bored of 2 halfway through the game, so yeah.

Dark Souls or any game of a similar genre. I play games to have fun while encountering a reasonable but escalating challenge, not tearing my hair out playing a game that is difficulty on steroids where one mistake ends in utter failure and that can and will make me hate my life and everything good in it after I smash something in frustration.

I don't need any reason beyond what I have given.

But if you've never seen these games then you technically have no reason xD

I think you misunderstood. Envy said whenever they had watched someone play such games they would get sick or end up feeling uncomfortable, not that they had never seen the games at all.

I will probably never play any Sports games because I don't like sports.

Preeeeetty much this. With one caveat: On the off chance I get interested in sports I usually prefer to just play them myself. That's generally where I draw the line though. 99% of all video games are enacting situations you can't even begin to replicate in real life. Sports is one of those things you can so why not just go out and play?

Taking it a step further, considering the fact that I have felt no need to pay attention to or play any sort of sport in real life for several years I will never play any sports video game either.

Ditto.

If I actually ever played sports in RL, I might have an interest in them... but I don't, so I won't.

Same goes for racing games, though I will admit I enjoyed "Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit" and "Burnout: Revenge", but those games aren't exactly standard racing fare.

Halo > 3.  I.e. Halo 4+.  I.e. Halo games not made by Bungie.  I.e. "Halo" games.  I.e. fake Halo games.

Oh, let's see, what else...sports games (zero interest), goat simulator (just why?  maybe if it had online multiplayer...), real life job sims (oh, please...), any games requiring motion control ( :eww: ), any WWII genre (zero interest), CoD (not vehemently opposed, but just not interested.  A little too ubiquitous), Final Fantasy X-2 (I have it on good authority that it sucked), ...that's all that comes to mind atm.

I don't like horror (excluding SCP containment breach) and sports games, so I don't plan on playing them.

I don't like horror games because my mom got me clock tower 3 for christmas one year and I didn't know it was horror until I got scared so bad I actually fainted... (the game was in one of those gamestop cases where all it had was the name. I originally thought it was just a survival game).

Ah, still not all games that happen to have violence feature the same level. Some people assume Call of Duty is super gory, when in reality it's totally not. Most you see is like a little spray of blood when you die, and blood doesn't even stain the battlefield or anything. CoD is actually extremely tame in violence.

It's not just super amounts of blood, it's realistic killing of people. I find no entertainment in that, in fact it makes me feel sick.

In Zelda you slash them with swords. The only difference is they don't display blood. It's literally the exact same as like Skyrim in that regard. The exact same level of violence. Same with Kingdom Hearts.

That's why we go back to my original post, where I said "graphic violence". It's a combination of realistic violence with killing of realistic people.

In Zelda you hardly face any kind of humanoid enemy. The same goes for KH. Except the humanoid figures you fight in KH are typically just 'vessels', and when you slash them with the keyblade there's no visible evidence of it actually killing them. The vagueness of what the keyblade actually does to harm them aside (important to this discussion that is, though) they reappear in the next game in some new 'vessel', or in what appears to be the 'vessel' they were in previously.

When you defeat someone in a graphically violent game, you see blood. You see them lying on the ground. You know they are dead. You know you killed them with a real weapon. I want none of that.

For the record, I'm not even speaking about Skyrim here. I have never even seen the game played, so I don't even know what it's like. I'm speaking of games like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Fallout, etc., etc. (although Fallout is messed up in its own unique way).

Goat simulator does have multiplayer, came out with an "MMO" DLC that made it multiplayer. It was a fun game for a bit, but I find it more fun to watch.

They aren't actually dead though, because they're a fictional character consisting of art and graphics; the weapon isn't real because it's virtual and also consists of artwork and/or graphics.

Would you understand if I said I didn't want to watch a violent movie for the same reasons I listed? It's pretty much the same darn thing.

Anything on the mobile phone market. Except Pokemon Go.

Anything my facebook friends invite me to play.

Anything ending in "Saga."  Chances are, it's some Candy Crush garbage and my mom would love it.

Avoid the free-to-play options on Steam as best I can.

I will never again play "You Are Not A Banana." Waste of $2.49, glad it was on sale. Never buy anything full price on Steam for this very reason.

Lost my level 70 main in Runescape. Screw Jagex's recovery system.

Anything on PS4 that I can't already get on PC. FF7 remake? Why not PC? (Insert Zoidberg voice)

Anything Gameinformer or www.geeksundergrace.com that scores less than a 7.

Anything on Steam which reviews are "Mixed." Case in point, Romero's Aftermath. Yuck.

...I'd be here all day.

Pretty much any horror game or FPS. I never intend to play Undertale as it's just not the sort of game that interests me, but I wouldn't mind watching someone else play it and you probably couldn't even pay me to play LoL.

^That reminds me I certainly have no intention to play any of those games that try so hard to stick to the NES aesthetic, or really any related aesthetic. It's just that the 'retro' NES aesthetic is so overrated and I'm sick of seeing it everywhere. Leave that in the past, where it belongs!

The Retro style is really only annoying when the style is only used for the sake of it or to used as a key selling point to pander to people's nostalgia and hide poor game design(disguised as "NES difficult")

If you can make great games using the artstyle or you want to make it a good tribute to retro games, like with Shovel Knight, then you're fine

I dunno. I do know that I'll probably never play Fallout 3 again... I got bored with it after a couple of hours. Sue me.

I won't ever play a horror game, or something with way too much violence, gore, and blood.

I mean, a little bit is ok, but, if it's a lot, then it needs to be toned down a bit.

Oh, and Sonic 06 is something you will NEVER find me playing, ever.

I mean, I've already seen lots of videos about how bad and broken it is, so it's a huge "nope, I'm not playing this" from me.

I admit though, some Sonic 06 videos can be super funny, like this:

That doesn't make sense, that is a design choice that may be appealing to some. Might as well say lets ditch traditional art for CGI entirely in animated media.

I don't really think these two are comparable to each other... NES style graphics being made in today's games is nothing more than pandering to nostalgia. 2D graphics can be much more detailed than that.
