Are you talking about the Skyline GT-R or the current GT-R? (I personally love them both) Remember, Skyline was never sold in US (and the current Skylines aren't GT-R, and don't look anything like the Skylines we all know and love; no wonder they're sold as Infiniti G37's here)

These are the Skyline GTRs (not the current GTR) I'm talking about. From left to right: R32 GTR (1989-1994), R33 GTR (1995-1997), and R34 GTR (1998-2002). All have RB26DETT engines and can be tuned to 700 hp with stock internals, or 1300 hp with custom internals.

The R32 GTR is now 25 years old and can be legally imported and registered in the USA now. Up here in Canada the import law is 15 years so all cars can be imported  :grin2:

Nah I'm actually planning on selling it soon and getting an older 350Z with a manual transmission. I was a wuss and went with an automatic back when I bought mine lol. I'd like to turbocharge the next one I get, and do a bunch of visual and other performance mods as well. In case you haven't noticed, I'm big into the tuner scene xD. If I had the money, I'd love to get my hands on a GT-R R34, of course I'd have to either bring it over from Japan or buy one over here in the U.S, which is hard since there are so few of them over here. I agree with you too, I'd rather have an older GT-R than a 350Z, but it'll have to do for now, I'm still in college after all

I had an awful 2003 Ford Mustang, stock, with a pony package. Does that count as "performance?"

I remember thinking "something called pony package is ridiculous." I even said that early 2015...now look at me.

Dude, a pony package is only cosmetic features. But the 2003 mustang is pretty good (if it's a V8). Still, if yours have a V6 it still counts.  :)

OMG   After all this time I found someone who has something in common with me! From what I've heard the manual 350Z can make quite a lot of power (~600 hp) if built right. The GTR R34 is actually illegal in the US. Any that are in the US right now are on a special "exclusion period" where they can be driven for a few months only during showcases or something. While not as pretty, the R32 GTR (shown below) is legal now and can be imported.

Yep. The drawings of the mustangs and fake spoiler thing. I just thought I'd mention it for the pony reference.

And it was a V6. Cloth interior....yeah. it was okay.My wife has a turbo Volkswagen Passat and I feel we fly in that more than I ever did the mustang. And its a sedan even.

Ooh yay thanks for the links! And cool I didn't know that about R32's, something to consider for when I (hopefully) get a decent paying job as a mechanical engineer after college. Another car I'm looking into is the Nissan Silvia S15, which I'm sure is also illegal in the U.S, but I'll have to do some further research. They can be pretty sexy if done right! Here's a picture of one I saw in real life when I brought my Z to an import show in Doylestown, PA:
