Has any group claimed responsibility for the attack?

I don't think so. On my feed people are directing hate towards Belarus though.

I heard recently that ISIS did. Not unexpected, really.

Just a heads up @@ARagY, I've moved your thread to General Discussion and applied a 'News' tag to it.

34 people confirmed dead and about 100 wounded.

This is.... hard. I lived there, where the bombs were blown up and I knew a lot of people there, hearing about this attack exactly there, is quite depressing and not only to I wish the Belgium people the best, but also to all my friends who still live there.

For how long is this going to continue? Until they killed everyone? :/

This really needs to end now.

It is devastating to hear that another worldwide tragedy happened again. Many innocent lives injured and gone without any warning.

My prayers go out to all of the victims' families that were impacted by the bombing.

Sooner or later all these terrorist attack need to stop.

While it is sad, I can't help but feel this crap will have more negative effect than positive. Getting onto an airplane is already annoying as hell and this kind of crap makes security tighter because people misinterpret it.

It was really only a matter of time after Paris, especially since the culprits came from a district of Brussels. I'm sure it'll be quiet for a few months now, but after that they'll just do the same thing again. ISIS won't stop until they've been utterly destroyed, and finding the ones with European nationalities isn't easy. They won't be dumb enough to attack again when everyone's on high alert but they'll surely do so once things have cooled down a bit.

I hope that the counter-terrorism units in Belgium and the rest of Europe manage to prevent something like this from happening again, but I'm afraid this won't be the last we see of these utter nutjobs.

I heard that this was a complete retaliation. This was due to the fact that a guy was caught about to set off a bomb in another location. Either way, this is evil and sad. I hope and pray we can take ISIS down as soon as possible. It will take time to do so.

More senseless violence. Probably in retaliation for the capture of their leader the other day.

Remember that division and hatred are the goals of these attacks. If you see a Muslim today, offer them a smile. :rarity:

As a Muslim this really upsets me. tbh this incident just rapidly boosted Europe's already high rate of Islamophobia.

Islam is...well, if you don't get the right understanding of it the first time 'round you can end up seriously misunderstanding and misinterpretating it - which results in horrible acts that have no real sense behind them. When you see ppl like this know that they have some seriously messed-up and false ideologies of Islam and do not truly understand it at all. They then use it as a silly and unreasonable excuse for their actions with a bunch of lies about the religion.

Sad thing is only a teeny tiny handful of people in the world truly know and understand what "jihad" REALLY means in Islam. All they know about the term are false info, misinterpretations, inaccurate justifications, and plain lies.

My dearest prayers go out to the victims and their families, and any Muslim in Europe or the world who is attacked or harassed due to this incident.

Another day of terror. Not gravely surprising, but indeed saddening, this trend does not seem to slow, not in the least.

I wish the best of luck to any anti-terrorism and relief efforts taking place at the scene (and beyond it). With the current state of things, any such entities could probably use a good break.

Yet another horrific massacre that will cause even more mass hysteria and fear mongering throughout Europe.

This is truly terrible. 34 people dead as confirmed so far and over 200 people with injuries on a scale from serious to minor. Innocent people who did no wrong have been punished and executed without any meaning to it. What's worse is that this goes on everyday in Syria, for example. This goes on and on and they don't get half the recognition they need to survive. Children, families that are all civilians have to bare with these risks every other day. The world is a horrible place and I really hope and wish for this to end. War has no meaning, bombs and weapons have no meaning, why must this go on?

I lend all my thoughts and best wishes to everyone out there who's hurt, heartbroken, scared, sad and whom has passed because of these horrible situations. May peace and luck be with you.

I'm absolutely horrified to say the least, they've killed a mother of two twins who are 4 years old. Now imagine, being a 4 year old, and not being able to see your mother for the rest of your life.

I also heard that they were going to originally blow up a nuclear reactor, but I wonder if they changed their mind, if so, then Rosseau truly was right.

I don't know if they should be killed though, although I am angry and sometimes feel like I want to kill them, I think most Isis members have families of their own. So they are ruining families just to get their own family.

A bit sad really.
