Y'know, nobody actually said the nickname would be coming from her fellow Wonderbolts. It's probably actually from the fans.

Looking good so far. Wonderdashie is adorable.

Hope there'll be some Pinkie Dash fuel :pinkie::wub:

I don't ship it but I will say that they are adorable  when they hang out with each other. :smug:

Crap... its a literally new writer for this one. He's only written TWO episodes in his entire career before this, and its without a trace. Its a literally "Who" writer here :/

his other 3 works weren't even as a writer but a script editor.
Dangit, why's dash get shafted with the no experience newbies? :/

Apparently the episode is being handled by a completely new writer

Not sure how I feel about this. Plenty of new people have written solid debut episodes in the past, but considering what kind of episode this is, with Rainbow Dash finally being a Wonderbolt and all, I would've preferred someone who was at least more familiar with the show. At the very least I'd be less worried

As for the preview, the screw up itself was funny and over-the-top enough, and it didn't explain how she screwed up, so that's at least still in the open

EDIT: NINJA'd

Haha, Dashie's skeleton tho :'D What's that thing next to her hip bones? Guts?

It looks like a cloud

Not a good sign.

I'm considering skipping this one.

I'd be more okay with it if he had ANY experience at all. Like, seriously, this isn't even a "new to show" thing, this is a "new to writing in GENERAL" thing. :/

And the preview clip just doesn't make me really have alot of confidence here; its super over the top, near cringey levels of screw up, and the plot of dash obsessing over a crappy nickname just sounds bad.

This just makes me even more hesitant :(

Being a fan of MLP as much as I am, I wouldn't dare to skip an episode, but this "new writer thing" is really worrying, and the preview's not filling me with too much hope too.

If the writers suck so much, then why doesn't Hasbro hire fans?

Because then we'd be getting shit like My Little Dashie and Fallout Equestria.

There are fans that can write fics that could work well as episodes, but those are very few and far in between

The fact that we're getting so many "temp" writers who are just being brought in to write one episode and then dissapear, combined with all the writers that have jumped ship lately, really does make me think they're planning on ending the series with this season and the movie :/

If they were planning on continuing things I'd expect they'd be trying to get writers who'd be here for multiple seasons not just one episode and then leaving the show.

Fans don't have the years of professional writing experience.

If a fan tried to write an episode, he/she would fail miserably.

I don't think it is that hard to write an episode I tried writing detailed episode summaries and posted some attempts at actually writing screenplays of it. At least /mlp/ seemed to really like it.

The show writers don't have years of professional experience either.

The person who wrote this episode, Natasha Levinger, and Josh Haber had less than a year of experience before being brought on.

What about the Guardians of Harmony series they are planning? And how do we know they are only there for one season?

I'm not too concerned about the new writer thingymabobber. Plus the preview is vague enough that it doesn't give much of an insight onto how the writing will be, so for all we know it could be astounding.

Although, admittedly I do wish that Rainbow's first episode as a Wonder Bolt would be a bit more honorable and happy for her. I know happy, problem-free plots aren't typically good stories but I feel it would have been nice for this one. There still could be other problems, but I wish this was Rainbow at her best considering this was her lifelong dream after all.

What about the Guardians of Harmony series they are planning?

It looks to mainly be promoted via Comics, not really a series like the EQG or FIM series; specifically, the only thing they've talked about for GOH to advertise it are comics packaged with each of them.

At most I'm expecting a series of shorts ala the EQG minis line.

Those three didn't, but I'm talking about Larson, AKR, Renzetti, and Savino.

And even if they don't have much experience, they still have some, while fans don't. There's a MASSIVE difference between writing fanfiction and writing on a professional level. To be perfectly honest, most fanfiction is garbage.

What is the massive difference?

1. Is it script writing? There are loads of guides, there are several interviews and snapshots of show scripts online, so putting together a fanfic in the same format in the show is possible and might even be easier than the traditional form of storytelling.

2. Is it having to meet the demands of Hasbro/editors? Well, don't the professional writers have to work with in that as well?

3. Is it deadlines? Well okay, you got me there.

It was given a service mark for an ongoing series. I think Hasbro is planning something animated with it.

I'm expecting that It'll be a bunch of tiny animated shorts on par with the Minis mini-series of shorts though.

Just a small group of tiny snippets of one or two of the characters/toys fighting another character and it ends after like 10 seconds.

Rainbow Dash is too good for this kind of treatment.

MMDW 2.0 basically :(

hoping its not as bad as its seeming like it'll be.

Why would Hasbro not just swap Equestria Girls for it? Considering how badly Friendship Games is maybe GoH is replacing those movies.
