I really don't see why so many bronies heavily dislike Sonic. Sure the franchise has had some bad games but there are also plenty of good ones as well. Sonic's isn't perfect but it's not the worst thing ever like a lot of bronies claim. Why the hate?

Would like to watch the different Tv Incarnations, but some of the Dvds are so rare...and expensive.

Maybe some Bronys just dislike the Games, not everyone can like the same things.

I think that they hate Sonic because ''Rainbow Dash is better.'' I do agree with that statement, but the only valid reasons to hate Sonic is because of Sonic Boom, Sonic 06, and plenty more or just because they don't like it.

From what I've heard, the Sonic fan base contains those who can't handle change and most of the time they complain about a certain thing...like Sonic's green eyes.

i myself dont like sonic but I can see why it is a very loved franchise by many good designs ect and a quick game to get into but here is a video that explains some resons why I don't like it (remember I do not hate the franchise)

I'm also a Sonic fan. A majority of the perceived animosity between the two fandoms comes from the immature, irrational, and tribalistic behaviors of people in both fandoms and the stereotypes associated with them. It's an amazing show of hypocrisy that each fandom belives that they're above the other's stereotypes when the reality is that everyone's got something to be ashamed about.

 

The hate is more directed at rival fans than the works or characters themselves, but most respectable people know not to get involved in that disgusting, hypocritical shit show.

To be honest I didn't really know there was much animosity towards Sonic from the brony fandom, but I don't really get involved with things like that anyway.  It's probably mostly due to the reputation of the Sonic fandom and the perception that all Sonic games are bad and nobody should like them.  The reality of the situation being every fandom has an unpleasant vocal minority and there are actually a lot of good Sonic games but everyone focuses on the bad ones or the ones they don't like and refuses to see the good.

 

I'm a really big fan of Sonic myself though I'm not actually a member of the Sonic fandom, I pretty much prefer to just enjoy the Sonic games I like in my own way and don't worry about the opinions of others or judge them for their opinions.

I used to be the biggest Sonic the Hedgehog fan when I was like, 5 or 6 years old. XD I just lost interest in it a few years later, and I haven't gotten hooked onto it again ever since. Maybe the fact that the franchise had a mix of good and horrible games over the years, and some of the weird things that the fanbase has done one the past kinda kept me out of it. Yet again, every fanbase in existence, even ours, has people like that. I don't exactly HATE the Sonic franchise, I just lost all my interest for it. I do stand by the belief however, that a being a brony doesn't make you a Sonic hater. Maybe the reason why is because "Rainbow Dash is 20 percent cooler" and stuff like that.

This is an interesting question, though I haven't personally seen much of it. You could ask the counter-question, why do bronies and furries tend to get along? What dictates one group of non-homogenious group's disposition towards another? I'm no sociologist, but it seems like a very complicated question to me.

Hey, Sonic gets nothing but love from me. A stern talking-to every now and then, maybe. But a well-meaning one.

 

Seriously though, I had no clue that this was an issue. I got into MLP partly through the Sonic fandom. I kinda got the impression that they fit together quite nicely (at least, the folks in the comment sections of Sonic/MLP remixes did).

The sonic franchise is hated by many, and not just bronies (and there are some very good reasons for that). This is all I can say about the matter.

 

As a small note, the Sonic fandom (along with the MLP fandom, might I add) is one of the most hated fandoms on the internet. The fact is that some people who hate Sonic happen to be bronies, not that they hate Sonic because they are a brony.

Can't say I've heard of any animosity existing between the two fandoms. I'm in both (if my avatar wasn't an obvious indicator of that), but it's fair game to not like a series, as long as you don't act like a dick about it.

I lost interest in the franchise a while back due to the amount of, at best, decent games. As in the case with Pokemon, the live action movie is the first thing in a long time which gave me interest
