My family always tried to hold off with letting me play video games when I was younger, but eventually they said 'yes'; I'm quite sure the first one I played (aside from some bad quality children's games) was Sonic Heroes. I tried it out again recently, in fact, and I still find the game awesome.

Ah, I remember it like it was yesterday... My very first video game was Kirby's Block Ball for Game Boy Pocket which I got for my birthday a long time ago.

I'm actually really jealous looking at all the games people first played on here. My parents were so old school, that for my first ten years the only games I knew existed were board games. Though the first game I ever played that I would actually call a legitimate video game was Halo.

The very first game I played was this old, ooooold computer game where you were directing this little school bus around this little map, and the goal was to pick up all the kids and take them to school. Lord I don't even know what kind of computer it played on. But I was 4 or 5 years old, so it was around 1994-1995.

It was definitely a Mario game, probably New Super Mario Bros. for the DS, I remember I used to play that game all the time when I was little, until I lost it and never found it

It was either Pokémon Red or the original Smash Bros. Either way, the start of an amazing franchise.

My brother and I weren’t allowed to have a video game system growing up. My friend had an NES system and we played Legend of Zelda a lot. The first game that I played with a game system that I bought was Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii.
