spoiler Who's Starlight teaming up with in the finale?

Anybody else read the synopsis? If so, who do you think Starlight's gonna recruit with her team to help save Equestria?

 

I have a few ideas:

* Spike - He's been an awesome and supportive friend to Starlight in the premiere to Starlight, and he befriended a Dragon Lord and a changeling! He did better this season than any other season! I told you guys from the start! This is Spike's best season! Plus, Cathy kinda hinted that he would play a major role!

 

* Trixie - Big Jim states that Trixie's story isn't over yet, and she's been an awesome friend to Starlight! No doubt she's coming back to help save Equestria!

 

* Sunburst - Starlight's first friend who she reunited with in the premiere! His knowledge might prove useful to make strategies against the villain!

 

* Ember - Twilight said "you've gained us a powerful ally" at the end of Gauntlet. Surely that was foreshadowing something!

 

* The Yaks - Same with the dragons. They might be helpful against the villain! VILLAINS NOT PERFECT! YAKS SMASH! >

 

* Thorax - Since it's highly likely for the changelings to be involved in this finale, no doubt Thorax will come back, and possibly, he'll form a Changeling Resistance against Chrysalis, and maybe whatever evil creatures she has teamed up with! Possibly even Grogar!

 

* Discord - John de Lancie stated that he's voicing in another episode, and he thinks it's a 2-parter.

 

* The Griffons - I'm not 100% sure about the griffons, but they're a possibility!

 

* The Buffalos - Remember them back in Over a Barrel back in season 1? They were pretty much the first allies we witnessed! It is highly unlikely that they will be involved though, but just throwing it at the table.

 

* The Villagers - The ponies that Starlight enslaved and made them all equal! Then they forgave Starlight in the season 5 finale! Why not give them a quick cameo in here to help with the battle?

 

* The Mane Six - Yes, I know it said the Mane Six are gonna be captured in here, but perhaps they'll come at the last minute and use their Rainbow power against Chrysalis, or if she teams up with Grogar, then him!

 

So what do you think? Do you think any of these characters are coming back, or do you have any other characters I didn't mention?

I think it'll be party favor, night glider, double diamond and sugar belle, along with Sunburst.

 

Basically sunburst and starlight act as co-leaders for the group with the 4 under them helping, to drive home starlight's growth as a town leader to show that she'll be a good steward of the town when she returns.

They could also put in some lines from the 4 of them about problems in the town that have been happening that they need starlight to help them with later, since they're at a loss without a mayor.

I'm more convinced it's the new friends Starlight and Spike made this season: Trixie, Ember, Thorax, and (maybe) Discord. I think Gabby (the griffon from this week's episode) is also a good possibility.

Does it matter? They're going to be sidekicks who are overshadowed by Starlight.

Then again they're probably going to be getting more screen time than the Remane 5 have been given in the last three two-parters combined.

Well I'm really hoping the Mane Six don't become useless in here. If Starlight and her reinforcements would do a great job in defeating the big villain's minions, the Mane Six could use Rainbow power on the big villain! Then it would show they actually did something!

I like this idea. Have the Mane 6 fighting the main villain in a faint attack/distraction while Starlight deals with a flanking force. Shows the Mane 6 being active/not useless while also showing the villain to be intelligent. That's a pretty decent idea.

I am going to guess Thorax, Ember, Trixie with another 2 but there are too many different possibilities.  These 3 just seem like the most probable to me.

They probally pick a new Town Leader after Starlight dissapear, Its beyond me for who it is

I think it will be Spike, Trixie, Ember, Thorax and maybe either Sunburst or Discord that will team up with Starlight. Starlight and Spike worked well together during the season 6 premier. Also I think Spike would help Starlight in gathering the team they need to save the day. Trixie because she was Starlight's first friend when moving to Ponyville. I also think that if Starlight needed help then Trixie will be there to help her friend. Ember because while she and Starlight don't know each other, Spike does. It would also be great to see how a Pony and Dragon type of alliance would look like during the finale. Thorax because I feel that Chrysalis will be the main villain for the finale. It would also be great to see him help get the other changelings over to the good side to stand up to Chrysalis. I would say Sunburst because I have a feeling that Flurry Heart will be captured. Since Sunburst watches over her, he would do everything he can to get her back if she get's captured. Though I think the final spot will go to Discord. The reason is while he enjoys chaos from time to time in his own way, he cares a lot about Fluttershy. Hearing that she got captured would make him want to take action and join up with the others to save her. I'm not sure if this will be the team in the finale, but it would be pretty cool and interesting if it was.

Didn't Jim say that Trixie's story wasn't over after "No Second Prances"? It's obviously guaranteed that Trixie will show up in another episode after that, but at this point, could this be a hint that she will have a role to play in the finale?

 

 

Also, I think we can add Gabby to this army of characters who promise to spread friendship to their people that Starlight is more than likely to be recruiting.

I think this season has been building all these alliances for a reason...I feel pretty confident we'll see them unite against some major big bad in the finale (most likely Chrysalis or a new villain...or both of them with an army of Changelings and who knows what else!?) Personally I'd love to see Starlight's team of unlikely heroes be former villains/antagonists and it seems likely given how much this season has focused on redemption. Trixie, Discord, Gilda, Ember and Thorax all seem possible and I'm sure Spike and Sunburst will play a role too. This really has been Spike's season to shine!

Well, Twi mentioning having dragons as powerful allies might had foreshadowed they might help with it, and maybe the yaks. But those are whole nations, I'm not so sure who could be more close and personal in the conflict with Starlight. I think Trix is a safe bet, but I'm also thinking about the possibility of either ponies helped with the maps or the key givers in season 4 (Coco Pommel, Silver Shill, Spitfiyah, Cheese Sandwich, Seabreeze and Discord) might help

I don't want to make any guesses as to who Starlight rounds up to help her, but I'm certain Discord, Spike, and maybe even Trixie and Thorax will be involved.

 

I doubt Starlight would turn to the Royal Family for help. She knows full well that without the Mane Six to defend Equestria, the Royal Family are the next line of defense with the Wonderbolts and Royal Guard, and Equestria needs them more than the Mane Six do. So while they protect and prepare Equestria for attack, Starlight is tasked with saving the Mane Six with her unlikely group of allies.

 

However, if they get the help of Gilda and the griffons, Rutherford and the yaks, and Ember and the dragons, no villain, especially if it's Queen Chrysalis making her comeback, will stand a chance against that army of allies.

I feel like 100% percent Trixie and Spike will be with her. And maybe likle 95% Sunburst too.

Now, onto the actual guesses;

Thorax (Starlight and Thorax have to meet, please!)

Gilda (Kind of to fill the role of Rainbow Dash in this team)

Ember (Dragons are pretty independent creatures, so it wouldn't be hard to not make her an overpowered character with an army at her side)

 

I don't know who else though. Gabby maybe?Who can say for sure? But, if this turns into a battle of armies like I feel like they're hinting at, I fear that Chyrsalis will either crushed too easily or they make changelings too overpowered. I mean, Starlight has Dragons, Griffons, The Royal Guard, and possibly the Yaks and the Wonderbolts on her side in that case, I fear Chysalis will get hopelessly outgunned unless she gets some massive help.

My guesses would be Sunburst, Trixie, Spike, Ember and Thorax. Would have thought it would be 5 to make up Starlight's own Mane 6, plus any more and things would start to get overcrowded. Interesting that John De Lancie thinks he could be in a 2-parter, I'm wondering where and when this is from, is it possible that he could mean the as yet unconfirmed season 7 premiere? If this is from sometime ago he might have just meant Dungeons & Discords but been wrong about it being a 2-parter. I hope he's part of Starlight's squad, but for it to work they'll need to find a way to make him not OP, otherwise the episode will be finished in 5 minutes.

What makes you think the villain is Chrysalis? While likely, as far as I know there is no proof that she is the villain as of currently. 

 

Though I think the team will include: Spike, Ember, Trixie, Thorax, and possibly Discord.

Eh, now that's a little too obvious for the new characters we met this season to be her allies. I mean, how about the characters we met last season? Like Tree Hugger. Or even the ones that were introduced the season before ie: Seabreeze or Coco Pommel.

 

Or maybe Starlight's group consists of all the reformed antagonists ie: Discord, Trixie, Gilda, Lightning Dust. The possibilities are endless.

Spike's not part of the Mane Six! I dunno if he's gonna ever have another chance like this again. Next season, it's probably right back to the Mane Six being the heroes! So if Spike's not gonna be part of Starlight's group after all he did this season, it's pretty much gonna ruin the finale for me.

I hope you're right and he's there. I do see a scenario where he gets captured right after the team is formed and it pretty much out of the battle for the rest of the episode.

 

 

As for the team itself, I'm thinking more and more that in addition to Spike and Ember, it would be rather bold for Starlight (or more likely, Ember) to bring Garble along - or more accurately, order him. XD )

 

The reason being is that he would make for a good tank - he took quite a beating in "Gauntlet" and having him on your side would be useful for breaking through the enemy's front lines.

 

Really, though - I'll be truly impressed if Haber even goes so far to consider actual attack strategies in the episode. XD
