I used to like aviation, and I even dreamed of becoming a pilot. I remember being in an aviation show, and I really loved the rumble of

planes going really fast ^_^! That stopped a few years back when I found out what I was actually good at.

When I have to carry out my military service, I might try to get into the air force. The only problem is that you have to be perfect physically, so it's basically random who gets there  .

That doesn't make it random. You just have to workout and maintain a good eyesight.

Military aircraft are what I am mostly familiar with.

My favourite historical aircraft may have to be the Messerschmidt Bf-109 and all of its variants.

It remained a competitive foe for Allied aircraft until the end of the war and always posed an immediate threat. The top three German fighter aces all flew Bf-109s with great effectiveness.

Ever since i was little, i have loved aviation. I'd say some of my favorites are the F-15, F-18, F-16, P-51 Mustang, and Spitfire, as well as plenty of other military aircraft. I also love Aerobatics, Whether it be the close formation flying of the Snowbirds, Thunderbirds etc. or the thrilling Aerobatics of airplanes like the Extra 300. Every year i go to an Airshow (in Abbotsford BC) and i really enjoy it :)

I have a REALLY good knowledge on planes, particularly plane crashes. I watch so many crash documentaries yet I still love to fly. Its mah favorite method of transportation. Its pretty much a hufe reason why Rainbow Dash is mah 2nd favorite pony . If I could name airplanes from the top of mah head it would be (Includes some helis).....

I had a definite interest in aviation when I was younger, and while I have developed other interests, I still do have some interest in aviation, primarily military helicopters (Mi-24 Hind, AH-64D Longbow Apache, Ka-50 Black Shark, UH-60 Black Hawk, etc.).

Last year, I was toying with the idea of training to become a helicopter pilot, but I realized that I would have to spend tens of thousands of dollars just for initial training, and most places will not hire anypony that does not have at least 1000 hours logged of flight time (I have heard a lot of people that get jobs as helicopter pilots got their experience flying helicopters in the military). Consequently, I concluded that it would not be worth that much just to get initial training that would probably not help me land a job; I have decided that I will try to return to college and learn a trade instead (this would be cheaper and more likely to land me a job).

My friends Dad is a pilot, and my grandfather used to pilot one, but I don't like thinking about flying in airplanes too much, because I think I'm going to crash and die.

Im a huge fan of any ww2 era planes i've flown in a two seat p-51d and a b-17. The Mustang is my favorite followed by the f-86, B-52, B-47, c47, and i guess pretty much everything else haha.

i had planned on joining the air force since my grandad flew in ww2 and dad flew b-52's and my sister is a lt col in the air force but my eyesight was bad enough that even with lasic i still couldnt fly fighters so i said screw it. didnt really want to fly cargo planes lol. going to work on my pilots license next year though

I like aviation, but more of being able to fly or pilot an aircraft more than the appearance of the craft itself. A musician I like, Cloudkicker, is one of my favorite bands and most of his songs are linked to aviation and flying. When listening to his music, I also feel like I'm flying in an emotional way, totally weightless. His music can be described as a little repetitious and strung out, but I love that feeling of constant emotional flow.

I've flown in planes probably a dozen times and I love taking off and being able to see so far down below, being carried away, but sitting next to a plane's engine will cause major headaches I've found.

Love it! I'm surprised there was an earlier aviation thread than mine . I flight sim a lot. Took off from Sydney on an a380, went to sleep, and I now I'm 2 hours from DFW :P (trip is 15 hours).

I love aviation. I'm the most interested in anything involving space, but I also have a tremendous interest in military, commercial, and private aircraft.
