How loud can your OC be?

He can be pretty loud if he gets enough adrenaline pumping. And if pushed far enough (and as laid back as he is, especially for royalty, you'd have to push him very very VERY far) he WILL break out the Royal Canterlot Voice.

He is usually maintaining a low voice, except if he discussing something and really gets into it. Then it often happens, that he is speaking louder than usual.

Cyan Flare usually has a shy tone when speaking to ponies she doesn't know too well, which can sometimes be mistaken for quiet ignorance. Around friends, however, she tends to be quite placid until she has something she would really like to say, or joke about - then, she'll make sure her voice is heard loud and clear, although she barely ever raises her voice too high. She also does this when annoyed or anxious.

From the most loud to the least loud:

Whirlwind.

He's really hot-blooded and emotional, so he will scream about pretty much anything. Something good happened? he'll scream  in excitement, something bad happened? he'll get angry start yelling at anything that breathes, so on and so off.

Mystic Rune.

A lot less hot-blooded than Whirl, but still wears her heart on her(nonexisting) sleeve: she's perfectly willing to show her emotions to others, even if it involves screaming.

Golden Flash.

He's pretty chill most of the time, but being the professional hammy actor(and aspiring drama queen) he is, the guy gets REALLY loud when he's on stage.

Healing Tome.

Rarely ever speaks louder than he deems appropriate, but will scream loud enought for Appleloosa to hear it if something or someone scares him.

Rapier.

She's so quiet it's almost scary.

Lyric generally gets agitated, frustrated, and is very sensitive easily. When she is frustrated she'll scream and yell but that's only when she's at home or somewhere private.

depending on deffinition of OC, and where he is...

it could be a normal yell, average for any pony...

but if he is in a "splinter demention"... can you think of the voice of god? (refrence to 'Dogma' movie)

... not the person playing the voice of god, but when Alanis "shouts" the other guy to...well, ya.

The unasked questions are what bother me, not the answers. The answers give me clarity. Silence is in its self an answer, so ask! To not ask is to deny the existence of said question, and leaves you with just "what if".

He can be quite loud and proud! Proud to be loud!

"I could have been happy above if I'd never donned the copper carapace and dipped my head beneath the waves to hear the muddled man-made sounds. Distorted and dreamlike droning. The whir and thrashing of a distant propeller, the tumultuous thundering thud of fogbound freighters. Mud underfoot, no sights, except the grasp of a diver's trained hand, dreaming of distant lands knowing all the while this is what I love, not the blue skies and wondering faces above. Canvas, rubber, brass, copper, and glass. Leather and lead, mud and sweat, heaving around in dark, damp depths seldom seen by most yet talked about by all. As if a sunny, happy place where mermaids and seahorses play and chests of gold are lain bare, untarnished by salt and time for all to grasp who are bold enough to go below..." -"Deep Sea Diver", Steven L. Waterman

Well, I could tell you where the Blackwaters sit on this scale... from softest to loudest:

Dax: He's the quietest one, but make no mistake - if he's speaking out against injustice or defending a friend?  He can get fairly loud.

Harcourt:  He most certainly CAN be quite loud - but, as a thief, he tends more towards being quiet and stealthy.

Oglevy:  Young, puckish colts can get fairly loud; Oggie's no exception.  (ESPECIALLY if you call him Oggie.)

Vylia:  The mother of the family has an EXPLOSIVE temper, and she can gather a large amount of air to screech at whoever riles her.  Her screams are terrifying, and many a staff member at the Blackwater Quarry lives in fear of crossing the pegasus mare.

Luther:  Usually direct-and-dour, Luther grew up in the quarry - hence, he has a lot of experience making his voice loud, when he needs to.  Of all the Blackwaters, he's the only one I've ever used size 48 font for!

Kiri is soft-spoken around most, so her voice is usually average to quiet. With her friends, though, she's prone to be slightly louder than normal when she's excited or passionate about something. However, shouting really isn't her thing. :P

  • 5 years later...

Shadowmoth is a classic example of Evil is Hammy. She yells to keep command of the ponies she bosses around, screams to intimidate others, and has a menacing Evil Laugh to boot.

It takes all sorts to make a world
Short and tall sorts, large and small sorts
To fill this pretty planet with love and laughter
To make it great to live in tomorrow and the day after!

Thunder can get really loud if he's hyped up. His singing voice can carry through as well. My griffon OC Thundy can be loud in the same situation, but what really takes the cake is if Thundy squawks from being startled or surprised. You'd better not be in a small room if Thundy squawks...
