Are the show and old G4 toys in the same universe?

The old G4 toys are drastically different from the show. For technology, there's TVs, cars and trucks. For ponies, there's all these weirdos like Dewdrop Dazzle but no stallions at all. Is it the same universe?

No Coz in our universe they are made of plastic and I'm sure in the shows universe they are not :)

Though seriously I wouldn't call the toys canon with technology the show universe doesn't have the same technology though there might not be TVs there is Movie Theaters and for transport the most advanced is a train

 

And they do have electricity from what I've seen but not heaps advanced stuff

No, the most advanced transport is either the helicopter or the plane (which has been shown as a toy and a cutie mark). Check this out.

first one is the older of the two, and they reused the stuff from the g3 playsets in the g4 stuff, that is why there are tvs and stuff

But why would the TV need to be apple shaped if it was G3?

I think the toys belong to a separate canon... After all, there are at least 3 more princesses in the toyline that were never introduced to the show. And come on, a princess is quite an important figure. If they existed in the show's universe, how come they were never mentioned?

omg I am the BIGGEST fan of Star Dreams, even though she's only a toyline only. Wish she was in the show. "old" by your standards or not (btw, her fanclub is in my signature)

The toys, especially the old ones for FiM, are simply separate entities. I mean, for the longest time, the toys could barely represent their on-screen counterparts. Pinkie Pie with a car is also very suspicious. Where did she get it? How does she operate? It is definitely not batteries if it was in the show somehow. Baked good? Perhaps. Still, it has no connection.
