But better than i expected.

Skyrim is a bit to casual for my tastes. Even its music felt rather "easy", and lacked alot of the atmosphere the other soundtracks built with theirs.

It lacked the comleteness of Morrowind but really is good while you play.

Morrowind is best on it's own.

Skyrim's was movie music. It didn't add to the atmopshere, and mainly existed to be on a sountrack at a later date. I never felt like the soundtrack of skyrim was adding anything to my game, other than taking up space in the game file. Morrowinds was excellent, but when it comes to adding to the ingame experiences Oblivions was simply my favorite.

The Elves experience a *lot* of racial discrimination in this game. The Chantry declared war on them for not worshiping the maker, humans enslaved them and destroyed their culture, history, and language, killed their men and raped their women, and they're often either segregated to insanely poverty stricken parts of town or forced to live nomadic lifestyles in Dalish tribes. You know, pretty much everything the Colonists did to the Native Americans. This song is hella reminiscent of that. Glad I usually play as a Dalish Elf, though - I usually shoot the finger to the Chantry at every opportunity for all they've done to my people, and I get extra pushy-shovy when it comes to humans. It's fun

The original Donkey Kong Country has an excellent OST and my personal favorite has to be Aquatic Ambiance. It's so soothing and calming, which feels unique compared to other soundtracks that are more intense.

 

 

 

Also, I've never played a single game made by SNK, but this song is stuck in my head right now:

 

 

I like it probably due to how unique it sounds compared to regular fighting game music, especially the arranged version.

It's hard for me to choose which is better. One is very relaxing, the other makes me tear up a little. I give a slight edge to Aquatic Ambience since I get that "ahh" feeling after hearing. Clears my head a little.

I'm surprised nobody in this thread mentioned how amazing Chrono Trigger's soundtrack is. There's not one bad track on there, in my opinion. Wind Scene is one of the most relaxing songs on the SNES. There's one of the dungeon themes, A Silent Light, which gives an ominous and unsettling dungeon theme. The default boss theme is very adrenaline-pumping and intense. I could go all day about how awesome this OST is.
