I liked it, and thought the whole meta jokes involving it such as how the characters just barely managed to beat the record because they wasted time singing it were pretty funny.

I enjoyed the song just fine, but the cut to Trixie and Starlight felt like a weird tone shift. I get what they were going for, but I don't think it worked well.

To be honest, this is one of the worst songs in the series so far IMO. Feels really phoned in, and inferior to S6-1's songs

Honestly I didn't care much for this song even though they seemed perfectly aware of how cheesy it was. My problem is that now, they lampshade their cheesiness by reveling in it, whereas way back in Season One, they did so by giving an incredulous stare and a "Tell me she's not..." when Pinkie Pie randomly began singing. I gotta admit I liked the old style better than having a cheesy song for its own sake.
