I'm pretty sure the term for trolling people online is the same as cyber bullying. :P

Ridiculous. They have to realize that trolling and flat out bullying are two TOTALLY different things.

I can't get charged if I've trolled someone in Arizona at some point... right? That death threat might just become reality, please don't send me to the electric chair!!! NOOOO!!!

Seriously though, how can this possibly be a good idea? A simple application of intelligence will show everything that is wrong with this, which is everything basically.

Edit: Just noticed its TYT, so... what Steve said

It's contrary to free speech, insulting, offending, or annoying people is a right and denying that sets a dangerous precedent. That said, citizens deserve to be protected from bullying, harassment, and psychological harm, so if it can be demonstrated that a troll is intentionally targeting and knowingly attempting to harm an individual then the citizen deserves protection from that.

Shouldn't happen -- If people can protest at a soldier's funeral, then we can troll.

Still, what this guy did passed the line; however, I don't think it's a crime.

*Watches the video more*

I agree with these guys.

I don't see how this would be enforced, given that a lot of seasoned trolls simply hide behind proxies and are difficult to track down. I would be in favor of publicizing the internet troll's personal information to those that live in his/her community so that this person can at the very least be ostracized, but I am not sure if throwing trolls in jail is the right way to go (unless it was proven that they caused severe psychological harm or caused somepony to commit suicide).

Furthermore, if Westboro Baptist Church is allowed to invade peoples' privacy and protest at funerals (I don't agree with this, but this is an established fact), I don't see how a law targeting internet trolling would stand up if one were to take this issue to court in an attempt to have such legislation overturned.

There is a point where its not just "trolling", its disgusting and cruel behavior that deserves a heavy penalty. I don't think the authorities should go tracking down every case of trolling but in situations such as this I believe it's appropriate to punish the offender for personally contacting the family member.

Personally, I think blatant hate should be illegal. Its not needed.

Actually, members of the Westboro Baptist Church face jail time if they contact the members of the deceased soldiers or go anywhere near the actual funerals.

LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice. Fees and penalties still apply.

Trolling is for "fun", and usually doesn't harm anyone per say.

Bullying is just going to people and saying "I'm gonna freakin' kill you" or something to that extent.

So yeah, this is bullcrap.

It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...

"The defendant willingly participated in activity, I.E, visiting site in question, that caused him to be subjected to "Trolling", your honor, I move to dismiss as the defendant is clearly caused this upon himself with foreknowledge and clear intent."

Internet is optional fillies, not a necessity.

It's completely optional to remain to be trolled.

None of the cases will stick if the legal system has any merit left.

Good, an upside is that Bronies in Arizona that get trolled by other Arizona trolls won't have to worry about them!

This is the most stupid thing I've heard all day. This could easily be abused by the people who don't know shit about the internet. Additionally, most trolls are anonymous which would make this law pretty useless against most of 4chan, unless 4chan is giving up info about its users.

Essentially he got in trouble for mocking the dead. That means we should arrest anyone who mocked the death of any other person including, but not limited to, Sudam Hassan or Osama Bin Laden. Just because your daughter dies, doesn't mean that everyone has to agree with you. It's nobodies job to make them happy, so stop complaining when someone makes you upset. Instead of pressing charges on "trolls" maybe they could re-evaluate their parenting tactics.

On a side note, fuckin asperger? fuckin please. laws are meant to protect society, not to decide the morality of someone. If someone is a problem, with a mental condition or not, they should be removed from society.

PS: watch the video with captions lol "may last burgers" Awesome job youtube, well done.
