Why is Kevin's name the odd one out?

Kevin, the changeling friend of Matilda's present at the wedding in Slice of Life, was the second changeling to be given a name. But unlike Chrysalis, Thorax and Cornicle, the three other currently named changelings, Kevin's name is not insect related.

Probably because it was a silly joke name that Larson came up with that wasn't even supposed to be said in the show?

Was his name ever confirmed as kevin? I thought that was just a fandom name and that the changeling may have actually been thorax.

Because that changeling was just a silly joke, and wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

It was a silly inside joke from Larson. He pokes fun at the fandom all the time, and this was one of many of those moments. Also the CCG is full of references to things that are not exactly show canon. For instance

But even if the name Kevin showed up on  a credit list, your argument is still shaky in that we don't know if the name Kevin is unusual for the species, considering we only know the names of ... what ... three or four Changelings? 

Imagine visiting China and assuming all Canadians had similar names. We simply don't have enough data to draw a conclusion.

I actually would love to see this be a running theme with the changelings. The first few we knew of had insect related names but then the rest could have the most normal sounding names possible. There is just something hilarious about that idea, especially when we consider that they had those names their entire life, even when evil.
