But Starlight's whole character arc is that she's learning. She makes mistakes, but she usually doesn't know any better, and learns from it. But here, she already knows giving up on Pharanx is wrong, but she's going to do it anyways. If someone else came up with the idea first, I could see her being talked into it. For me, it just feels like a contrived way to drive the plot, especially since it isn't necessary to get Pharanx to leave.

It may be feel contrived to you, but when I was a Moderator and Admin here, and on another Forum, I got to see this happen weekly from generally decent people. It's called rushing conflict resolution, and it happens all the time -- let the perpetrators of it are rarely villainous -- just wrong. Yet another genius element of this episode. Couple that with the fact that the rest of the hive acted like a functional echo chamber and ... what you saw is how 70% of the population would act in the same situation. It's what happens with groupthink, anchoring, and selective accessibility. 

Most of the people you meet in your life, are Starlight in this episode.

I think it just adds much to him. I matches him better and makes him look better.

I agree. It fits his personality more than the pastel look would, definitely. And he is the Luna to Thorax (though age is reversed here) so the darker scheme almost fits perfectly as you have a new dichotomous approach with Bug Royalty. One is all cute and feelsy, and they other is a salt bug.

The last episode with Thorax had Ember help teach him how to be more assertive against issues. Well, this would've been a great opportunity to show how the dragon influenced him!

Trixie's antics are always fun, and I liked Pharynx's personality.  A little predicable plot, but I thought it was a good episode but not a great one.

I actually liked if there become more with his design. I don't mean the colours with did, but rather his body type. You can make different ranks thanks to this. Thorax as adminastrator, Pharanx as moderator with some other changelings and the rest just normal.

But he needs more development. Like I said, I think even Thorax has had more development.

He might not get any episodes in season 8. I'm just surprised that he's barely been in this season after a great season 6.

He brother didn't really need that. In the end, he learned less of a lesson than the hive and the Ponies. 

Thorax also showed assertiveness with the hardest group do show it to -- your closest friends. He also yelled at his brother at one point.

Yes he needs more development, but they want Starlight to become more important, so she also have to get more development. That is the reason Spike is less visible in this season.

Another fantastic episode in the books. Totally loved the character development in this one. And lol Trixie the liar...got the living ghost scared out of her by Pharynx. The lesson, totally awesome. Can't always be stuck in the past of doing things, but you can transfer some of your past memories over to further progress the new way of life.

I think it is good he wasn't in this episode. It helps Starlight and Trixie to grow, but I find it strange he is missing in Fame and Misfortune for example. I want him to be at least in the episodes that are playing in ponyville and with Twilight in it.
