Father Knows Best! Iunno why but I really want Spike to call Starlight his family! It's probably the best chance for a bond between those 2 this season, until they get their possible episode in season 9!

I dont think Starlight is really fit in this episode, it should belong to Twilight, who technically hatched Spike's egg and raised him. 

I have feeling that the writers dont have Spike/Starlight episodes in mind.

Actually the only real pony he should talk to us not his boss or Starlight, it's Applejack!

She lost her parents. So maybe she could help him, I'm sorry I love Twilight, but all signs point to her butting in and not understand ing, how could she, she has a family(parents) he does not.

 

AJ may have family but having no parents is hard, so in a sorta Gammora way,

Hearth's Warming Club seems like a likely candidate for both Ember and Thorax, and Father Knows Best for just Ember! But they could also appear unexpectedly in another episode!

I know, but I'm thinking episode 12 might be skipped since it was the only one not leaked and without any footage, and episode 13 might become the new episode 12, and episode 12 won't come out till after the hiatus. I think I understand why though. Re-animating some scenes after the events of episode 11 probably!

I don’t think the Student Six are being utilized enough. It would have been better if they had more focus episodes, either of them as a group or solo so they could have more development.

Even the school doesn't feel like a big game-changer. Why did they introduce a big change to the status quo like the school if they're not even gonna use it much? I honestly don't know what the writers are doing this season.

I'm not to say this is fact and anyone is free to correct me, but I believe they physically can't; at least if Hasbro is as involved as I believe they are.

This is the same with "Princess Twilight's not being used enough" "Starlight Glimmer is not being used enough" Now Season episodes are months in advanced, usually production for the next season begins before the previous season premieres or after the season before that ends. As such any dramatic change approved to take place has to be planned solely between DHX and Hasbro and Hasbro being the merchandiser has the final say in what stays prominent. Unfortunately the downside for Hasbro having these episodes produced months in advanced means none of these changes will receive any critical reception or criticism before it is already finished. As such they play it safe and work they're new concepts into the show when necessary while making sure it doesn't take away from the main draws of the show i.e. The Mane 6.

They will do episodes regarding this new concept but they're not going to throw all their eggs into one basket for the entire season. Like I said this happened with Alicorn Twilight only feeling meaningful in the season premiere and finale along with a couple episodes in between. Same with Starlight in Season 6 (It's a wonder it took two years to get merchandise with her new mane look). And the same is clearly happening here with the school getting prominence in the premiere and finale but merely sprinkled throughout the season in between more episodes focusing the established successful products.

Again I may be totally wrong on this, but it's what I've observed because I don't think the writers are totally at fault at how the season threats new things, but Hasbro aren't totally wrong for how they handle the show; it's just business.

Neighsay will appear in the end and see that Twilight was right about non ponies protecting Equestria and that not all ponies are good(Cozy Glow) and will resign as Chancellor(but not before giving his humblest apologies to the Young Six)

And it's happened again!

I just read a Finnish streaming service has released episodes 10 to 13 of season 8 today. Apparently only the Finnish dub so I definitely won't be watching them. I'm just annoyed that this will lead to more and more spoilers before those episodes air officially.

A lot of people complained about the Canadian early airings (which were canceled) – well, now those episodes are out anyway and not even in English!

I swear if that's the home of Smolder, her family, and...

...Spike's egg before it was lost, not only would we finally have Spike's origins, but Smolder would indeed be his long-lost sister after all! And they'd be living close together, and Spike would reunite with his family before Father Knows Best!
