Do you think Hasbro will finally do something about their hacker problem?

I'm wondering if they want something to do... It looks like they don't even try, or try to solves it and not prevent it. :ooh:

I'm inclined to agree. I would say yes, but as far as we know, Hasbro hasn't even taken any steps to try to rectify early releases and the like. Maybe they will; but at this point in time there's no way for us to know.

I understand the movie leaking. That can happen to just about any film. But the sheer amount of leaked information, as well as a bunch of leaked episodes from Season 8, makes me think Hasbro doesn't really care about keeping things under wraps. I bet most of the kids who watch My Little Pony won't even know about the the new episodes and G5 for quite a while. They just watch the show when it's on, as well as on Netflix or Hulu if their parents allow it.

My impression from the comments is that all of this was from the same break-in and the hacker simply decided to do this next dump of info at this later date. I haven't gone near any of the leaked emails so I don't know if they are dated before or after the movie leak. If it is after, then that would indicate the hacker is still getting into their systems.

First of all, I don't think it was Hasbro that got hacked. DHX did. And being simply an animation studio who probably never had to deal with anything like this ever before they probably just weren't prepared for this kind of breech.

As for Hasbro, while it's annoying to them, perhaps, they probably aren't too worried. In the end, it's publicity for their product and generates interest, even if the message wasn't as controlled as they would have liked.

There are emails discussing the film leaks and hosting on third party sites.

It was not DHX's email server, it was Hasbro's.

Is it a hack? Or is it Hasbro intentionally leaking info just to build up hype? I mean they did do it for Magical Mystery Cure.

I wonder if Hasbro knew about this beforehand since, leaks like this have been going on for years.

Hack. In the leaked emails they were definitely furious regarding the movie leak. Their emails contained PII/PID on someone hosting the film. The legal ramifications regarding that alone could be significant, but it also represents a break in the logic chain regarding Hasbro intentionally leaking Season 8, 9, the movie sequel, and the Gen 5 concept. It's because of this that it's a stretch to suggest the leak was intentional. It could possibly be internal without C level exec awareness. It definitely isn't a honeypot like some on 4chan suspect.

There are some curious elements to this. Like this leaked file dump had duplicate files from the Season 7 leak, but not all of them. Some date after the last leak, some don't.

These days, EVERYONE is having problems. From what I see on the Internet, Minecraft had a huge problem for years. It came to head last year & the guilty just got sentenced

Hard to say. It was an FTP server, which are common targets. Additionally they are easy to break into. You can scan the ports for an opening and snatch it when it's active, or create a PHP shell and upload it to the backend of a website you've already hacked, and then use that shell to obtain usernames and passwords for the servers you intended to break into, so long as the website and the server are directly connected to each other.
