movies/tv Hidden adult humor in children's movies

The studios that make movies for families often include hidden or slightly mentioned adult oriented content that children are clearly unable to understand.

For example, in Toy Story, when Buzz Lightyear tells Woody that the word he's searching for is "space ranger", Woody then tells him that the word he's actually searching for he can't say because "there's preschool toys present", it is highly possible that the word is "f*cker".

Does anyone remember that part?

This ^^ is the actual joke. What actual 'word' is not even important, as long as the viewer is somewhat familiar with social graces around young children.

A lot of Pixar movies do that. At some point I want go back and watch those movies just to look for the adult jokes. :D

I like it when writers try to bring something in for everyone. Adults and children alike. You can still make a great children's movie with heart and magic while also making jokes for the adults so they aren't completely miserable. I have to say though one of my favourite examples of adult humour in a "childrens" movie, and I use that in quotations since it was marketed that way, but I see it as more of an older child, young teen, despite it's PG rating and that's....

Movie companies enjoy doing this because they know that adults are watching these movies with their children--or without children in certain cases--so why not include some jokes and other references that they would recognize?

It helps keep the adults engaged with movies and shows they are watching with their children.  It also makes for nice little easter eggs for ponies to find when they are older and rewatching movies they grew up with.

There's a hooker and a bouncer in Toy Story. ^_^

Sid is quite a imaginative kid.

Aside from that, I like going back watching kid shows, only to be able to point out adult jokes. Especially in disney and pixar.

I thought about this last night when I was rewatching the first Incredibles movie. There's a brief bit later on where Syndrome's guards are playing a drinking game in the little RV that the Incredibles end up strapping to a rocket.
