Like chigens said, It's a waste of money. The "stories" are just people experiencing the placebo effect.

Seems like most people on here don't believe in the paranormal. I however, do. I can tell you that this is

a bad idea..... seriously.

Some of the stories about it that you have read might be true. An ex of mine used a Ouija board once and it didn't end well. It was simple stuff at first, like kitchen cabinets opening by themselves, weird sounds, ect. Then one day she came home to find every single room in her house completely trashed....

Here ya go

What's awesome about Ouija boards is that the real reason it works is almost as spooky as the ghost explanation: You're actually communicating, not with the dead, but with the subconscious part of your brain.

Posted Image

"M...I...L...K...B...R...E...A...D... guys, I think my subconscious is really fucking boring."

Your hands move the piece across the Ouija board due to involuntary movements in your muscles, which are called the ideomotor effect. Basically, your brain can and will move your muscles without your express permission because, for the most part, your body kinda operates on autopilot anyway. It's just usually not brought to your attention (you'll notice it the next time a light stops working in a room, but you unconsciously keep flipping the switch every time you walk in anyway).

So with the Ouija board, you subconsciously think of a response to the question and your brain subtly moves the planchette where it wants it. Maybe not enough for it to work if you were using the board alone (though it is for some people -- it's likely how water dowsing works), but when you get a few people together and they're all subconsciously pulling, it creates the distinct sensation that the planchette is moving on its own accord.

T_T It's called a break in.

There is nothing supernatural about a oujia board. They are mass produced in a factory with machines. It doesn't take much to trick the body into feeling and seeing things that aren't there.

Uhh....no. It wasn't a break in. Doors were locked, windows were intact and locked.

Maybe they had a key.

......are you actually being serious? lol. The only person with a key was her. I'm sure her landlord had a key as well, but the landlord doing that would be very unlikely

If you don't believe in the paranormal, that's fine. I wasn't attempting to change your mind on the subject. In turn I expect the same courtesy from you. Otherwise you will come accross as extremely rude.

I'm sorry I thought we were having a discussion about the ouija board and its connection to "paranormal" activities. I am sorry my discussion has offended you.

Hey I was wondering if you ever had an encounter with the demon called ZoZo or if you have heard of that demon before.

I used Ouija boards for years when I was younger with my friends and believed all that paranormal jazz. Go ahead and get one! Try to go to an antique store and find an older one to set the mood better. But remember, it's a massed produced toy and nothing more. Nothing bad will happen to you or your friends, trust me. If it were real I'd have a butt load of angry ghosts and crap haunting me for the rest of my life for all the crap I asked, haha.

All the stories you hear from people aren't true. Either they started making themselves believe these things and started hallucinating from fear (which happened to me for years because that's exactly what I did when I believed. All of it went away when I stopped), or they are lying to try to sound cool.

Thanks,

First of all, you were not offending me. However your smart ass response just did. It was completely uncalled for. If this "debate" is going to continue it will be over private message. I will not continue this discussion on the forums.

Nope. But I try to not mess with stuff like that to be honest.

The whole paranormal thing was just a ploy to sell the things in the first place so just go ahead and buy one already. Seems everyone forgot were these things even began.

Worse way to waste your money. You might as well give your money to charity if you have too much of it and don't know what to do with it.

I have a demon in my mind and his name is way cooler than "ZoZo"

I'm not into ghost stuff (I'm a bit scared of them), but if you really believe that stuff, go ahead....

But i would normally not recommend it, simply from a scientific standpoint (but in a way, with enough scientific tests with them, with controls and everything, you mightjust prove it?)

Brushing your hair is for people who care and someone who cares is not I, I'll jump off a bridge and then fill up your fridge,
and best pony is Fluttershy.

Her face is still blushing and she is still eating the pasta.
