Who would the mane six vote for?

If Princess Celestia decides to abdicate power and democratize Equestria. Which of these two politicians would her little ponies vote for and why?

 

My speculation:

 

Applejack votes for Romney because the Republicans have the rural vote locked down and because of his strong record on family values.

 

Fluttershy votes for Obama because Democrats are nicer.

 

Pinkie votes for Obama because Romney is "Duh! Boring!"

 

 

Rainbow Dash could go either way, but decides to vote for Obama since he scores higher in coolness, awesomeness, and radicalness.

 

Rarity votes for Romney due to his strong support for business and because she admires his posh lifestyle.

 

Twilight votes for Obama. Students love him.

Well, as a fan of Politics this is actually very interesting to me.

 

Based on my knowledge of People and Politics here's a analysis of how each pony would vote, though early polls before an election are terrible inaccurate. Anyway, here we go:

 

Applejack: Her belief in a strong family values and helping her business put her solidly in Romney's field. She best represents the standard Republican voter.

 

Fluttershy: She most likely wouldn't vote because she would the fence sitter that everyone begs for their vote and she's too afraid to hurt anypony's feelings so she just doesn't vote.

 

Pinkie Pie: A clear Obama supporter because of his good personality. She's the type of voter that's attracted to the personalities of the candidates, rather than their policies.

 

Rainbow Dash: She represents the youth vote who are greatly in support of Obama. Plus, though she may not be part of the LGBT Community, she definitely captures the care-free attitude of the community who now love Obama more than ever.

 

Rarity: Too tough to call for her. She likes Romney's business attitude and his high class, but doesn't see how a good businessman translates into a good President. For Obama, she is thankful that he did a recovery of some sort and loves Michelle Obama's fashion sense, but she doesn't like how he wants to tax the rich more which will mean less money they can spend in her boutique.

 

Twilight: The educated voter who knows everything about both candidates and knows that Obama's plans are good for her, especially his commitment to helping students.

LOL, don't get me wrong guys, I love talking politics (heck, my college major's American Studies for crying out loud, which combines history, English, and politics), BUT I personally refuse to discuss politics or any pony's political beliefs on these forums whatsoever, since, for me, I really go to these forums partly as an escape from everyday issues and real world problems (as I do with most media that I watch or video games that I play). Besides, I just spent a semester in D.C., so I am just about tuckered out from politics and discussing politics at this point. So, if anypony ever does wish to discuss with me personally about politics, I'd respectfully request that you just send me a private message, since I myself will never be inclined to discuss politics in any of these threads.

Besides, we both know that if either Obama or Romney ever showed up in Equestria and presented a threat to Celestia's authority, she'd just send both their plots to the moon in a heartbeat!

And ya know, that'd strike me as even more reasonable than sending Luna to the moon!

I guess I was just worried that a flame war might get started, but thankfully, as you said, our community is a very rational and level-headed community, so nothing of the sort has happened. Rainbow Dash would probably, ignoring the lesbian rumor stuff, be very socially liberal and vote for Obama. She doesn't seem like a conservative at all.

 

Twilight would vote Obama too, for the same reason you said. She comes off as a serious college kid and yeah, Obama supports free, public education.

 

Also Rarity would not want her business taxed, I could say that much.
