movies/tv What do you think about Rick and Morty?

Guess it's an alright show. I think it may have been something I would of liked if it weren't for it's rabid fanbase.

Haven't watched it, though what I have seen is definitely not for me. Too much gross-out and dark humor for my liking.

I really don't like shows that go over the top with grossness, and Rick & Morty is one of those shows that just loves to show gross violence all of the time. That's really not my thing.

It's definitely one of my current favorite shows. I just wish they could crank out episodes at more than a rate of one every three or four months.

it has a smart writing and in what acid humor concerns it's pretty good, but most of the time, at least for me, it strikes me as a lot of pretentious

At the rate they go, it also really doesn't help duds like Anatomy Park (went WAY too far with the crude humor to the point of becoming disturbing) and Vindicators 3 (terrible all around). Makes them feel much less excusable.

It's okay. It's sometimes fun, but the humour falls flat for me. Not because of the dark bits or gross bits or anything, I just think the writers are proud about jokes that have been made before on many, many other TV shows (and other shows usually do them better). And the "philosophical" moments so pretentious. Again, writers play up those moments much more than what they actually are

Y'know, just thinking about it... I don't like Rick and Morty much now that i said all that :mlp_huh:

I never watched it but I heard the creator is heavily influenced by Invader Zim.

It's intelligent, irreverent, thought-provoking... one of the best things on TV.

I didn't get into it until later because for whatever reason I'm instantly put-off when something is super popular and people want you to watch it. But then I watched it and loved it, so there is that...

What can I say? I really like it. The humour has a great balance of Family Guy’s randomness and pop culture, South Park’s darkness, and has early Simpsons episodes emotional themes and unique settings - but at the same time, has its own identity.

I could care less about the fandom and haven’t even seen any bad examples of it yet. I enjoyed the show before it gained popularity and think its success is well deserved.

It has its flaws but for the most part it’s entertaining enough to watch though at least twice.

It's fine. Pretty much all that I can say. It's not superb, it's just fine.

Overexaggeration of certain elements certainly does not work towards its favour in my mind, but it has some witty writing and I do enjoy the VAs. If not the VAs, I wouldn't watch it to be honest.

And it has a great attention to detail (Rick's seatbelts, for example) and continuity.

No. But is it even relevant to be honest? It sounds well and fits the characters, that's the bottom line. Maybe I should have used VA but rather the term voice acting in general.

I prefer other styles of cartoons. I don't like the drawing/animation style nor the gross humor. It might be the next marvel of the world and have "deep things" to say about many themes but not interested, prefer to get the same kind of philosophical and existential scientific content from not-cartoons that pretend to be deep for a few minutes, and I better to avoid it's immense intense overly attached fandom :yuck:

I like that show at least for the bravery, nowadays disobeying media with all this SJW, feminism, etc things is extremely rare. And I love the story, character and themes they bringing up. But the latest seasons are tending to be more "funny" (thanks to dumb fans who are praising empty episodes like with pickle Rick and don't remember actually good ones) and I have it. And yeah, a terrible community

VA's are not about quantity but quality. In official Russian VA literally one guy does all voices and it sounds amazing (better than original for a lot of people including me)
