Hey guys! Time for another character Ask Thread! This time with three of my favorite MLP characters: Daring Do, Ahuizotl, and Dr. Caballeron...

Daring Do: Hello, everypony. 

Ahuizotl: Hola, ponis! 

Dr. Caballeron: I never, ever agreed to this...

With the change to your working relationships, how does each of you feel about the inevitable flood of shipfics?

Daring Do: Hmm, worst dare... worst da- op, I know. That time as a filly I got dared to climb up my family’s mansion via the ivy. For clarification, I didn’t know how to fly yet...

Daring Do: I’m already responsible for a massive fandom IN-UNIVERSE. You know how many shipfics ponies have already sent me? I’ve seen it all. 

Dr. Caballeron: The author of this thread es already pairing me with Señorita Fluttershy. 

Ahuizotl: And people have been, eh, “shipping” me and Daring for years. The point es, we are used to it.

Caballeron, do you offer dental? What are your general wages for an entry-level henchpony, and are you an equal opportunity employer?

Daring Do, given how often your wings get injured, what are the odds of permanent damage by this point?

Ahuizotl: *growls and swats at @Quinch* 

Dr. Caballeron: *laughs* No, I do not offer dental sadly. There are, uh, a LOT of dental incidents on the job, the premiums would be absurd. 

Daring Do: He means I kicked his boys in the teeth a lot. 

Dr. Caballeron: *ahem* Anyway, the rates are always pretty straight forward with me and my employees. Slightly larger cut for me since I run the operation, and evenly between the rest. Currently we split it as 31% cut for me, 23% cut for each of my three henchponies. And yes, I’ll hire anyone if they’re capable. 

Daring Do: As for me, the odds are pretty high, if I’m being honest. I’ve already come to terms with the the fact that my wings will probably be mostly useless after I get old enough. 

Ahuizotl: *has calmed down* Hmph. When not patrolling the various temples, I’m home in the village with my tribesponies. Helping with home construction, training with warriors, playing with my cats or the village foals, napping. The usual.

Ahuizotl: You know, I’m not sure? I’ll be honest, I mostly just did that to mess with these two... *points to Daring and Caballeron* But now here I am with actual profits and no plan for them. 

Dr. Caballeron: I could invest that for you amig- 

Ahuizotl: *glares at him* 

Dr. Caballeron: Nevermind! 

Ahuizotl: I guess the best thing to do with it es to use it for necessities for my tribe. Food, medicine... things like that. Maybe some cat toys if I’m feeling really frivolous.

Dr. Caballeron: *claps a hoof over her mouth* Quiet, you. It’s my turn. *ahem* “Villain” es such a harsh term. I prefer... “pragmatic”. Digging up lost wonders is my passion in life, but even a scholar has to eat. Holding a physical piece of history in my hooves... who am I to deny others the chance to feel that same wonder for themselves? I only ask for a humble sum in return.

Daring Do: I'd like to know this as well, Ahuizotl. Unending heat would have wrecked your own jungle's ecosystem.

Ahuizotl: Well less a "lie", more of an exaggeration. The Rings would have given power over the environment to the one that brought them together. Unrelenting heat? A definite possibility. If intruders where in the Basin, I could have sent the temperature absolutely skyrocketing. But if all was normal, I could also have left things in their natural state. What better way to deter interlopers than to make their journey into my home a miserable, scalding experience?

That makes a reasonable explanation for the retcon of the episode and the Ahuizotl character in my book. Good answer

Ahuizotl: *cackles* It might be cheating, because death was not the only outcome, but how it works es you must traverse the maze without running into any of it's 27 curses. Some are straightforward death curses. Melting of flesh, evaporation of bones, the usual... But some are... *snrk* *starts laughing* 

Daring Do: *glares at him* ... I was almost turned into a jaguar. 

Ahuizotl: *composes himself* Ha ha, ahhh... I know the maze like the back of my hands. Señorita Do did not. So of course, I tossed her in! HAHAHAHAA!!
