No, this is actually legit. For what I have heard, Hasbro told the DHX staff to tone it down because...it does looks very creepy.

Hmm, it's very subtle. I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference without that side by side comparison. It looks like the melting effect in the uncensored version is a little more exaggerated. I don't see anything wrong with the uncensored version. I think it looks too similar to the censored version to make an impact.

"Cruelest" death for me is definitely the Storm King's. King Sombra and the evil Six kinda melt slash vanish, while the Storm King is turned to stone (which we know kinda just freezes the person in time and doesn't harm them), falls from a high altitude and explodes into pieces when colliding with the ground. He is seen moving in his destroyed stone body in the end credits for some reason, but if he were to ever get out of the stone then... I don't even wanna imagine it

And it's kind of disturbing that his shattered Stone pieces were dancing during the end credits. But to some people can be kind of funny

Obviously Phyllis. The Mean 6 is an easy choice for me, especially the original version of the scene. I can imagine that scene being pretty disturbing to many kids watching the show.

All are very gruesome, but The Mean Six's takes the take. Not just because you see the Tree's magic turning them all back to soulless logs, but because the original version literally had Twilight Snarkle droop like hot wax.
