Kinda surprised that they didn't go for six, but I'm completely okay with the Mane 5. Each brief animation is more than enough to reveal how distinct each of their personalities, making them stand out on their own. Maybe with just five characters, they can really explore their personalities.

That is a lot of fur to render in 3D!

I would have gone for plastic material over fur. It saves a lot of rendering time, computing time. That saves money in the end.

 

Their eyes have less glitter than MLP The Movie! That is a good choice!

 

Their expressions? I don't know. I am very picky here. They do have individual face details, and even smiling looks different depending on the character. They could have been worked on a little bit more, to fine tune the "little things" that makes "everything" look good.

I think I have a crush on Hitch...

He'll get bonus points if he turns out to be a loveable and playful rogue. But potential pony husband material related crushes aside, Izzy is my favourite so far. She's giving me the same vibes that Pinkie Pie gave me when I first saw or knew anything about her.

It's nice to have some new images of these characters, and overall I'd say these pictures are pretty decent. They give us a look at a couple new angles and do a good job at making the characters look pretty good, even in an animation style I'm a bit skeptical about. Izzy, Pipp and Sunny especially look cute here. I also like that their cutie marks are also shown; it sort of helps me make theories about their skills and abilities. Next, it would be nice to get a pic of this new mane five all standing together in the same frame, for it would be interesting to see how this main cast looks together.

Also, it's interesting that the cast will be five members as opposed to six. I could see it changing up the group dynamic a bit. There's also that theory floating around that the sixth member will be a movie villian who is reformed. I could see that happening aswell.
