Removing One of the Mane 6?

I disagree.  Though Rarity knew precisely what she was doing and kept the individual personalities of her friends in mind when she made the Gala dresses in "Suited for Success," she still went out of her way to change all of the dresses when her friends wanted something different.  She even went through with the public display of the dresses she didn't think were up to par.  If she cared more about fashion, she would have: 1. Not bothered making the dresses in the first place.  2. Refused to change the dresses.  3. Insisted that her friends wear the original designs.

The Mane 6 are irreplaceable and are all well rounded characters.  Saying one is flat and boring then praising another is hypocritical at best and plain moronic at worst.  Twilight may be my least favorite of the Mane 6 but I stress least FAVORITE. I freaking love Twilight and I couldn't imagine the show without her.  My main criticism comes from the role she plays on the show, not her character.

Twilight Sparkle since she's an OP alicorn, that would be the least worst option: for example she stays in Ponyville and gets replaced by a unicorn, and the new mane 6 go on adventures.

As much as I hate the concept, the show could probably part ways with Rarity or Applejack without missing much.

 

However this would undermine the core concept of the show so why even suggest this idea?

I'm surprised Applejack doesn't have the most votes. (or did the "best background pony" thing come to an end? I can't keep track of these things.) While Rarity is my least favorite, I voted Applejack, because she (sadly) seems the least relevant most of the time.

I would remove RD and replace her with Spitfire .

Spitfire is one of the most immoral character on the show though. I know Dash ain't perfect, but she's had to put Spitfire in her place on more than one occasion.

Nobody! While I can't say I like all of them, I'd never want any of them to be replaced. Not only would it would affect the show negatively, but it'll also feel really empty if a new pony replaces one of the Mane Six. All of them make up how special of a show MLP:FiM is.

The Mane 6 are the heart and soul of the show; you can't take one out and expect the show to just immediately still feel like "Friendship is Magic." They are all different parts of the same whole and to lose one would hurt the show; IMO.

 

That doesn't mean the entire group needs to appear on every episode together, but I definitely wouldn't remove any.

Let's keep the defensiveness to a minimum please. It's fine if someone has a certain opinion about any of the Mane 6, but that doesn't give anyone the license to respond in a negative fashion in defense. As a result I've had to hide a few posts that were out of line.

I'd say twilight, just because I feel that, following S3, she's become very toxic to alot of plots, due to her political importance and her magical powers.


Case in point, look at the comics and the cattle rustler arc; twilight was 100% the lynchpin for that comic arc, and the comic revolved around her being the only way to solve the problem. This runs into problems in the show where she should, presumably, be able to fix the problem in a second with either her connections or her abilities-- the map even has been snubbing her on friendship missions SOLELY because she could fix the obvious problem with a clap of her hooves (Fixing the stage or getting the idol).
Plus, with her arc so far done, treading it out longer will get old, and they don't seem to want to give her any other things in life she wants to do now.
