I don't think that any of the consoles are better than one another. So based of their libraries:

Wii, because it has virtual console and backwards compatibility with Gamecube. And therefore I can get nearly al the Zelda series on it, and all three of the Super Smash Bros. games.

That and late Nintendo 64 was Nintendo's golden age in my eyes. So many quality games and sequels. Too bad they couldn't keep that up with the Wii. We'll see if the Wii U can return them to greatness. But I doubt it. They're too focused on gimmickry now. They put so much effort into their gimmicks and far too little into their games. Most of the series I used to love are nothing like they used to be thanks to the Wii and its stupid gimmickry.

I don't really like this poll. Why group things like the DS and 3DS together, they're almost two different things! Plus, its missing tons of consoles, like the Virtual Boy, Game Boy, Atari 2600, 3DO, so many relics unmentioned.

 

But anyway, mine would have to be, as of now, the 3DS. The DS had an amazing library, and the 3DS, not only backwards compatible, but with a VC and good download games, can have a gigantic library of awesome. But we'll see what happens as the tide turns...

 

Runner Ups would be the Gamecube, PS2, Game Boy, and SNES.

PS1, 2, 3, but no choices for Super NES? NES? Game Boy? Kinda incomplete in that regard...

 

I'd have to say, even though it's off the list, the Super NES. The console I grew up with for the most part, and a dang good one to grow up with too. Great library of games, many great RPGs, the Mario games, the Donkey Kong Country series, if I listed all the great games on the console, I'd hit the character limit a few times over. It excels at single player (The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Actraiser to name a few) and multiplayer (Zombies Ate My Neighbors, The King of Dragons to name a few), everything. It's hard to find faults in the Super NES.

 

However, you say your last thread like this "proved computer to be the best". So, why make this thread? You already got the answer, all taking the popular option away will do is annoy people. Like if somepony held a poll asking if people like pizza, fried mayonnaise or cow eyeballs more, but removed the option to vote pizza so they were forced to vote for the fried mayonnaise or cow eyeballs, the poll-holder removing the popular option so they only hear what they want to.

No such thing as a best console for a gamer like me who pays attention to games and not the consoles they are on. A game isn't gonna be any less worthwhile just cuz it's on the PS3 rather than the 360, the Wii instead of the PS2, the DS instead of the PSP, etc.

The PS2 is and always will be, my favourite.

I still play on the old Nintendo console as well, found it in my cousins bedroom. It's in pitch perfect condition.I have this baseball game for it and it's pretty fun playing it. The graphics suck though.

I have to say Wii. Sure, it may not have the best graphics or the greatest online, and a lot of the best third party games on it are kinda niche/obscure, but when it comes to controller flexibility(Wiimote, Wiimote sideways, Wiimote + Nunchuk, Classic Controller, Gamecube controller), backwards compatibility(VC + Gamecube, yo), and quality of the first party software, Wii is the best imo.

I'll always tie the SNES and N64 as the best, probably having the Gamecube as a close second.
