Characters that grew on you (or did the opposite)

Ehh.. I think I'd have to say Photo Finish. She annoyed me greatly in the episode she was in but then Yourenigma had to go and make a great song for her. And then there was that video.. what was it called? Picture Perfect Pony!

rarity i feel like everyone feels this way and i think that's mostly because it takes away for her character to develop because in the first couple episodes her character almost seems shallow and up-ity

I must be unusual, since I've liked Rarity from the beginning. Must be the fact that I like dressing up and (funny) hammy acting, so she was already a winner to me.

 

For me it'd have to be Granny Smith-- she initially struck me as only being around for senility jokes, until Family Appreciation Day threw around so many, only to be justified at the end, that it made her great. The cider episode did kill some of her character for me, but she still has her awesomeness.

 

It'd probably be easier for me to explain characters that I really liked initially at first but now have lost my appreciation.

idk why, but For me its Trixie. Really disliked her at first. So annoying. But over time i started likeing her... i think Sethisto finally got to me . Shes still not one of my favorites but i like her more than i used to.

i would say Rarity too but for me she didn't change much. Only like her a little bit more. But i never hated her.

Still hate Rarity. That hasn't changed.

 

Pinkie though, I used to hate her, I would cringe when she would come on-screen, she was annoying, obnoxious, loud, and she sang stupid songs. And she was so one dimensional. She only laughed and broke the fourth wall. She was a character to giggle at, nothing more, she had no feelings. She was bland and boring.

 

Then the baby cakes episode came along. And I got to see a side of Pinkie where she was more than just a giggle character, she had hopes, dreams, and feelings. She didn't always smile, she had her bad times too.

 

And the Smile song, that made me start to enjoy her songs.

 

Now my two least favorite ponies are Fluttershy (She's just boring. Nothing really interesting about her. That's it.) And Rarity. Oh goodness Rarity. Ew. Show would be better without her.

You guys are crazy, I loved Rarity the first time I ever saw her! Anyway, there were quite a few ponies I didn't like at first:

Applejack- she was really weird to me at first, I mean a cowgirl who's her own horse? What the heck? I grew to love her a lot over time though.

Rainbow Dash- I've always thought she was (vastly)overrated, but she definitely grew on me a bit in season 2 and after I saw Fall Weather Friends(same goes for AJ, except maybe the overrated part ).

Cadance- When I first saw her design and the fact she was just gonna be shoed into the season 2 finale, she kinda pissed me off a bit, but when I actually saw the episode she turned out to be a really good character with one of the best songs in the series.

Chrysalis- I'm sorry I called you ugly, my queen! I didn't mean it...

Diamond Tiara- I mean yeah, everyone probably hated her at first(and most still probably do), but over time I've come to think of her as 'adorably bitchy', especially in Ponyville Confidential. 'Feelings? I don't care about feelings!' best line ever.

At first I thought Rarity was really annoying but, eventually she ended up being my second favorite of the mane six. Just behind Rainbow Dash. So share your experiences with everypony

 

Um, me too, I loathed Rarity, but then I realized she wasn't that bad. I mean, she's not really generous, but she is kind, and I understand how her personality would appeal to young girls

At first I did not like Rarity. She just seemed to be more of the girly member of the group. Then in time I began like her episodes the most and she was a great singer. Rarity is still not my top favorite charter, but I do enjoy her more.

i used to think rarity was too snobbish for my tastes but she has grown on me during the second season. i also like the fact that spike has a crush on her, and how that has developed through the seasons

I hated hated hated hated hated hated hated Pinkie Pie. She annoyed me to no end.

 

After the Gilda episode, I started to like her more. I'd have to say that she's my 2nd favorite now next to Fluttershy.

 

I also really didn't like Rarity at first since she seemed so "girly" because she likes fashion and boys. But her characters grown on me. She's the best singer, and a lot of my favorite episodes revolve around her.

 

Especially "Suited for Success" which is great for people who are artists. When I started seeing Rarity as an artist, and not some girl who was obsessed with dresses, I like her and connected with her a lot more.

Believe it or not but I actually disliked Pinkie Pie the very first time I saw her. But as I continued watching the episodes and I learned more about her she has now become my favorite pony <3. She is kind, caring, honest, trustworthy, and really funny. At first I though she was hyper & annoying but she has grown on me honestly wish I could have a friend like her

At first I didn't really like Pinkie... then all of a sudden I start adoring her.

That giggle when she asks the channeling to change into her was too adorable to forget.

 

In the Mane 6 Fluttershy climbed to my favorite as soon as I was far in S2. Before that I didn't pay much mind to her.

 

In the CMC, it reversed. Sweetie Belle used to be my least favorite, AB being my favorite. Now I don't favor Applebloom, and Sweetie Belle became my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE.

 

 

 

Don't hate me, but I thought Twilight was always boring. That is, until certain moments that made her stand out. Still, bores me. Sorry Tara.

The first couple of episodes Pinkie drove me NUTS. Although she's not one of my favorites, I actually get a good laugh out of her antics now.

Twilight also bugged me a little bit, as she seemed like just your generic main character. It's nice to see how the crew has developed her character through the show; I find her and rarity to be the most interesting of the Mane Six.

I never "hated" a character but I hated most of their guts. But let's get realistic here... They are well voiced and well thought out antagonists and protagonists. Im not a fan of Rainbow because she's been a jerk a few times before and her ego is bigger than obama XD but at least she isn't that bad. What character makes me really tick off is Twilight, but she had painful moments more than any character she's like one of those characters who always get owned in some way and thats the saving grace for her... But she gets on my nerves sometimes she doesn't seem all that likable to me anyway :/ Later episodes I liked her slightly better (Lesson Zero ruined my impression of her) but still I don't show remorse for Twilight.... I feel like I want to punch a wall if I ever want to go onto a date or burn her books alive... Excuse my rage but this is how I feel about her and suriously the other characters are WAY better than her... Just ugh... I don't care about you and celestia :/

I didn't care much for Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie at first. Now I have to say Pinkie Pie is up there on my list and I find Rainbow Dash That somewhat like Rainbow Dash. The only pony I don't love would have to be Blueboood though. My opinion of him hasn't changed, at least for the show, some writers do him justice in fanfics.
