selling small items on eBay is always a pain...at least they got free listing now! So you only pay if it sells. I've only sold big stuff on eBay.

Fluttershy's lover, she's my waifu. I'm in love and obsessed with her, she's given me shyabetes. *Hnnnng*

It's just that I have soooooooo many extra cards... I have about 140 extra series 1 cards, and far more than that for series 2... which I still have not yet completed.

Technically I haven't completed series 1 yet since I have yet to receive the elusive F37 Rainbow Dash... but she will be mine one day, you'll see...

I saw a trading card packet box thing, (the box in the store that holds the packets of trading cards that are for sale?) at the dollar store ONCE. I rushed over to it, and went through the entire box. There was not one single MLP packet left. They reused the box for Disney princess cards.

I was thinking, does anyone know what happens to the special Gold Villain foil if a store orders a box? I was just randomly thinking about that.

You know what? I have no idea.

I mean, I haven't actually seen Target or any other store use the hobby box that we can order from Toywiz or Enterplay... they use a different box that you hang on some hooks against a wall. But I guess some stores do use it. Maybe they give the gold villain to someone and they sell it on eBay? Eh just speculating... I do know that for series 1 I didn't buy any boxes, I just got the gold villains on eBay for $30 total. I did wonder how the seller got a hold of a bunch of those.

For Series 1, both Walmart, and Acme (a comic book store near me) used those boxes so it had me wondering.  Walmart resorted to the hook box for Series 2 though.

  • 2 weeks later...

So there was a Vinyl Scratch card that was handed out to a few people at the MLP Fair in Indiana last weekend. Enterplay said that there will be more opportunities to get a hold of the card, so I am not looking for it on eBay for the time being.

Besides, I already paid $87 for the new Derpy card... I am afraid of not getting a hold of these cards right away only for their value on eBay to spike significantly. That is what happened with series 1 RD and I don't want to have to seek out more cards for more money...

Got some extra pages at my local comic store, so I finally opened my season 2 box. The binder fills out better with both seasons, so I'll pass on the new binder. Also picked up a Fluttershy box and the new lunchbox set. Both were great buys despite some problems with the posters.

Got a great start on season 2: my favorite gold (Twilight), most commons, and a fair number of foils. Awaiting another 30-pack box before I look for more trades.

@@RockinRarity, I didn't plan to hunt promo cards, but the new Derpy was irresistible. Glad you posted a link to it img-1639113-3-smile.png  I just won the bidding for one. Will post a picture when it arrives.

Finding those card packs are SUPER HARD down here in Texas.  I was at my local Wal-Mart and noticed the box was empty. disappointed I just looked at some Iron Man 3 and other cards for maybe 6 minutes or so.  As I was walking away I noticed some hidden card packs behind the MLP Raindbowdash tin.  I rushed over pushing a little old lady out of the way and jumped over a 7 foot tall dude.  Once I got there, I saw that they were in fact MLP card packs.  YES!  So I bought them.  Pretty awesome.  I went to Target later on and rushed to the card section.  And to my despair every single card box was filled to the top with card packs.........except the MLP box.   :(   And now I play the waiting game in hopes that maybe Target or Wal-Mart will restock with more card packs.

Sounds like there are lots of bronies in Texas. :P

If you can't find anymore cards, you could get a box online. It's a good value and you will have lots of cards.

Oi, speaking of having lots of cards, I need to sell all my extras. I could make a few hundred dollars from that...

Derpy's definitely a mailmare! Made it across the country in a day  :D The photo doesn't do her justice, but here it is:

Probably my favorite card and background pony

Flitter and Vinyl are also awesome, but Derpy is irresistible  :muffins: In fact, I'll probably order the Derpy tin later today. An awesome poster, another Derpy card, and a chance for that last common I need (Princess Luna).

It is extremely dangerous down here. I went back just today and THANK CELESTIA there were more packs, 5 to be exact. I only picked up 2 more but there was a smaller tin there, not sure whos it was though. Seeing as how the big one with fluttershy on it is rainbowdash's. also i got a foil of spike so yay!

I got a Derpy card too! How much did you pay for it?

I got mine for $88... the most that I have spent on a card so far but I did not want this one slipping out of my hands. Plus mine came with one of those cool card display cases. I don't use it, but maybe one day I will...

Nice!  :)  Derpy is definitely deserving of such a special case.  I understand if you reserve it for Rainbow though  ;)

I wish you the best  :yay:

It cost me $51 to bring Derpy here, but I was ready to go higher. Noticed other bids near the end for a much lower price, but no one went beyond my maximum bid  I never intended to collect promos, but this one's an exception. I'm really glad I got one.

Definitely jelly. I tried bidding on Derpy one evening when it was at $40, but there was someone who wanted her more badly than me, and I made the bid go up to $96. :P

The next day I found a "buy it now" Derpy for $88. I find it extremely difficult to bid on convention promos on ebay - they get snatched up so easily and the prices get jacked up really high. So I just went with the hassle-free buy it now one.

Definitely got off easy for my first promo. Maybe the seller's (relative) inexperience drove others away...I was planning to bid elsewhere after noticing little stuff (poor picture quality, their first time selling a card- they didn't know what a toploader was; and better deals ending sooner), but my bid locked me in  :P

I was really glad Derpy survived the journey. Perfectly packaged; toploader included!

Hahahaha, wow!

I once saw a series 1 RD going for around $100, and I was like, "Huh, maybe I'll get in on that..." but then I looked at the picture and noticed that it was bent. BENT. Not wasting my money on a bent card. I'd rather pay $300 for a perfect card than $100 for a bent one.

Also trading with newbies gets pretty interesting. My most recent trade was with someone who put the cards between cut-up popcorn box pieces. When I submitted my trade, I put in a little note saying that he should buy some top-loaders, like the ones that I included in my trade. :)

If It wouldn't be a bother how do you trade? Online or in your local area?

If I know How to exactly work my webcam I would be more than happy to post pictures but I can't find a way to take pictures (beside using skype) or just finding the pictures themselves. If somebody could help me I would be more than happy to show them since I just got my 30 Pack Series 1 Booster box of Mlp Cards yesterday.

I trade online via tradecardsonline.com. I have gotten some pretty sweet trades from on there, and there are a number of people who still want to trade series 1 cards.

I have lots of series 1 cards, but the only one that I need is the series 1 Rainbow Dash con promo. If I can ever sell all my extras, maybe I can make enough money to buy one...

Haha, that's one way to package cards. Points for innovation!  ^_^

That reminds me, I should let the seller know what toploaders are. It's a simple way to send them securely. Doesn't feel good to receive damaged cards, especially one's with special significance.

I haven't traded any of mine, mainly because I only have two packs, but I mean to buy more. I prefer to collect cards instead of trade them. Anyone else not like to trade?

Does anybody know how long series 2 has been out?  And also if they are making series 3 when it may come out.  I don't know since I just recently got into the cards.  Also are Foil cards the only cards wit the parts of the giant pictures on them?  Cause I got a normal card with the corner of a huge picture on the back of it.
