gaming Game moments that made you cry

With the ending for the walking dead for some reason I never found that sad, it could have been because Ben was my personal favorite character in the game so him dying (in both ways) made me ready for anything after that. As for "To The Moon", I've never heard of it but seeing as several people here mentioned it I might give it a go sad.png .

I forgot to mention Professor Layton and the Lost Future. The ending was very close to making me cry. Professor Layton lost two very important people in his life, and it was the only time that he ever cried. It was enough to bring anyone to tears! :( A truly masterful (and emotional) story!

Phoenix Wright games are the closest to making me cry emotional tears. Other than that, I'd cry angry tears because the team I managed messed up to lose the most important match they'd every play in their life.

This game clip should be enough for tears if you know the story.

Ok, so this a game series and two games that's stories have made me shed a few tears.

First off, the Professor Layton series. These game's stories are beautiful and the endings are so sad. Every one of the series is extremely sad, but I won't spoil it for anyone. Just go play the games and you'll understand.

Second is To The Moon. This is pretty self-explanatory. This game is so sad and the music is beautiful.

Third is The Walking Dead: The Video Game. This game had sad moments throughout the whole thing, but the ending was the saddest. I recommend playing it if you haven't already.

I owned what was probably the only pair of dry eyes in the theater when my in-laws and I went to go see Marley and Me, but I'll be honest here. The ending for Final Fantasy X nearly made me lose my shit.

Zelda: Twilight Princess, the last couple of scenes made me a little teary-eyed. It was just so beautiful how they managed to link (no pun intended) everything together. I thought it was amazing how the mystery guy who teaches link all the hidden moves is actually the ghost of Link from 1000 years ago. And how Midna finally gets transformed back into her true self. It had one of those happy-sad endings, in my opinion.

Heavy Rain his son dies tragic no I found it hilarious just because of the main characters awesome emotions

Honestly, Medal of Honor: Warfighters story was so BAD it made me want to cry. Other than that Saints Row 2 shocked me when he shot his homie and made me sad *to tough to cry*, that and Skyrim made me sad sometimes *still to tough to cry*, and then Pokemon Mystery Dugeon: Explorers of Darkness *starting to get weaker*. That is about all though I'm sure if I played all of my games over again I would find some more. :)

Mother 3

because I named Claus my brother's name and Lucas had my name. that ending tore me into little emotional bite-sized pieces.

Company of Myself

in spite of the shortness of that game, I was in tears of confusion and sadness at the end.

Bioshock 2

I got the best ending and it was STILL depressing. 2k is a jerk XD

that's all. I don't cry that much at video games. One of my very serious friends said that To the Moon made him cry, so I'm going to try that soon.

I remember *starts to tear*. Heavy Rain. You work so bucking hard to find your son then you buck up the quick action thing and he dies. Also Walking Dead *starts to tear*. Just knowing that you are turning to a zombie and you are talking to a little girl you expect to survive on her own, and you can KILL YOURSELF IN FRONT OF HER... how does she sleep at night... :'(

The worst part about 10 was all the revelations they dump on you during Home. Everything up to that point was "Let's go save the day then get ice cream!" which makes is the absolutely most heart breaking scene ever. Then they follow it up with everything between Bevelle and Zandarkand to give you a brief moment of hope that everything isn't going to be an emotional train wreck. Shortly after, the feelings train derails and goes flying off into the sunset, while on fire and exploding.

The end of portal 2, when the turrets are singing to you. Just thinking about everything you've gone through with GLADoS and she just kicks you out.

I don't think I've ever cried or become teary-eyed at any arbitrary "sad moment" thrown at me in a video game (well, except maybe Hyrule's destruction at the culmination of Wind Waker). I'm more of an "Aww, that sucks!" kind of reactor to sad moments in general. Nah, for me - as is the case with @Crispy - it's the nostalgic memories attached to games I grew up with that make me want to bawww. The ones that usually do it for me are the endings to both N64 Zelda titles.

Also, various songs from ye olden games also occasionally give me them sniffles.

The only game that made me cry in recent memory was Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward. One of the endings was just so emotional and poignant to me that it drove me to tears- although, with the way the game's mechanics work I suppose it's just a sad possibility, but I almost never wanted to leave that moment. It'd be impossible to explain the context of the ending without spoiling a lot of the game though... :P

A lot of games have definitely managed to give me feels though.

Eh, I can't say I've ever cried at a game from the story or at all really, I just never have it tug me the right way I guess, but I have got close from the mystery Dungeon game endings.

Never officially cried from one that I remember though.

When I was a kid, the ending of Hey You, Pikachu was the one game that made me cry. Other games have made me teary eyed, but Hey You, Pikachu has the honours of being the game that made me cry.

Why did I cry playing a pokemon game? Because there was a certain pokemon episode that made me cry as well that played out in a very similar manner as this game's ending. That's right, episode 39, Pikachu's Goodbye. At the end of the game, you have to say "goodbye" to pikachu and release it back into the wild. Even now, 13 years later, I got a bit teary-eyed rewatching that scene.

I've never cried at games but the ones that came closest were Red Dead Redemption and Heavy Rain. Especially its depressing graveyard ending. (Which was one ending of about 20 endings). That came pretty close.

I almost cried at the end of Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time. I also got teary eyed at the end of MGS4 with Snake going through the radioactive chamber and then the cemetery scene where he puts a gun in his mouth and you hear a gun shotsad.png .

I almost cried too when I played that part. Some other games that I have played and cried while playing is Kingdom Hearts, MGS3, MGS with the Octacon ending, and God of War 3.
