How old is too old for Halloween?

Well Halloween is my favorite day of the year! Anyway you are never to old to Trick or Treat on Halloween, or have some fun on that day end of story! I'm 23 years old I still got trick or treating! Me and a friend went last year I was a Hooker he was my Pimp. It was a fun time! got a lot of laughs, got some candy. People keep asking how old we are told them the truth! They still gave us candy!

So truth be told you are never and I mean never to old for Halloween and if some pony tells you that.. well then look them in the eye and say "WHAT?! to old for free candy?! have you lost you're mind?!"

To me I say it depends on the person. For some, if you start to age and look creepy in some kind of cat costume, chances are you won't be able to trick or treat with success xD

I'm 21 years old and I still look young enough to trick or treat.

no one is to old for Halloween. Hover i would say people stop trick or treating at 15 and move on to parties. Instead of trick of treating i usually just go out for Devil's Night, the night before Halloween and do a bunch of random bad stuff. you get to old for that at 18-19 but the parties stay. You can also pass out candy or scare people, some people go way overboard and make their house into a haunted house. if i scare people, i wear this old man mask that looks like real skin, and i wear a trench coat with gloves, and i scare the BUCK out of people.

Honestly, I'd say there is no "too old." Unless I'm mistaken, there's a whole market just for adult costumes anyway. That alone should be enough of an answer.

Even when you have kids, that gives you a reason to continue. Actively trick-or-treat with them, it'll make it more fun for everyone.  :)

I myself don't anymore, partially because I see myself more as the one that gives out candy, and partially because I know I'll never live up to my harvest from several years ago. But by all means, if you want to, go right ahead. I mean, who's gonna stop you?  ;)

Indeed.

I'm going trick or treating this year. I love Halloween, its my favorite holiday. I'm not sure you can be too old for Halloween. Although, trick or treating when you're like 60 could be considered either creepy or cool..

I'd say 150.

So -  I can only assume that 149 is totally fine to be stealing free sweets from people younger than you who haven't grasped the idea of never becoming mentally older, right?

I was going to say that you would be dead and buried before you would be too old for Halloween, then I realized that rotting corpses are more in the spirit than anything else. One is not too old, but far too young.

I prefer staying at home. I like to hand out candy using the 1-2 method (one for you, two for me). I haven't dressed up in years, but I have a vague idea for this year.

Well, my brother is 17 this year, and my mom agreed to let him go trick-or-treating as long as, A) He wears a costume, and, B) He takes me and my sister. Though I think this'll be his last Halloween, at least going around and demanding candy. I agree with a lot of people, though, you can never be too old to dress up and go to awesome parties.

Sorry if my grammar's a little off today, I'm really tired. :/

I always dress up for Halloween, it's just not that I go trick-or-treating anymore. I plan on stopping that this year, actually.

I think 15 is probably a good age to stop.

However I don't take Halloween too seriously anymore. :P

Like for example, this year I'm gonna dress casually and wear a sign around my neck that says "Worst Halloween costume ever" and just walk around in it.

I believe that once you hit the 14-15 year old range, you can stop.

I plan on staying inside and buying my own candy instead of begging for candy by knocking on stranger's doors.

It's FREE CANDY! You can basically rob your neighbors! Anyway, I have to say, I never really went out for candy at all, I was prefering staying at home and watching scary movies that make me end up scared and staying awake all night lol

I'm 22....married...have a degree and am basically "settled down".......but every halloween I join a bunch of teens and go galavanting for sweets....I'M NEVER TOO OLD!  Well.....once I'm like 30 or something or at least once I find out that I cannot connect with teens in terms of interest, I'll probably stop....

LOL, good for you!  smile.png  Twilight Sparkle might object, as she did with Pinkie Pie's trick or treating, but I've never seen a law that you have to give up at a certain age.

Still, I haven't done it myself since I was like 15 or so.  tongue.png

BUT...simply dressing up for Halloween, well, there's no age restriction for that.  I know neighbors that wear costumes as they give out candy to kids in costumes.

I'm 19, studying at uni and i've just spent £120 on putting together a halloween costume so I'm pretty sure there's no upper age limit for celebrating halloween. I won't be going trick-or-treating though, I'll be off to a party.

Anyone near Leeds wanna meet up for a night of classic slasher flicks or a fancy dress party at one of the most awesome bars I've ever seen then just send me a message.

Edit: Just realised that sounds like I'm looking for a date or something (or grooming) XD I just meant to meet up in a group ...this is just getting worse isn't it? XD

If your able to scare other children to death without a costume, then your too old for Holloween. xD

I'm 27 so WAY to old to be doing it. If I had a kid different story,

I stopped doing it when I was about 13-14? Other than getting a costume was a pain, some kids started going around BEFORE halloween, and then others would start before them in turn till it got to the point where no-one would have anything to give on the night itself and some were just flat out annoyed with the number of kids knocking on their doors.

And I personally have never been fond of sweets even as a child so saw little point in trick-or-treating anyway.

16. The only people over that age who get away with it are guys who aren't ugly and wear costumes to be ironic; because we all know that no one can make fun of you if you don't take it seriously. The others who get away with it are girls who dress like angel whores, bunny whores, cat whores, devil whores, witch whores, or just buy S&M suits and walk around in those.

You're never too old to dress up to pass out candy.

Every year I pass out sweets as someone different. I usually do it drunk too, which makes a whole lot of mothers/sisters/babysitters angry.

The dad's find it funny and appreciate that I'm willing to tolerate their children. Hell, I tolerate anything when I'm plastered.

You're from the north, right? People don't seem to care how old you are if you're dressed up on halloween. They may give you a weird look if you're knocking on doors but you can go to parties instead. My family always did more for Halloween than Christmas, it was strange but awesome. Anyway, find a party and go to it or grab a younger family member and go nicking sweets :)

In my opinion, you are never too old for Halloween. But, trick or treating you should stop around 16. Make sure the little ones get candy too. :) I'm 14 and I'm dressing up as Vinyl Scratch for Halloween. XD I don't give a crap. Even though I look 12. It's alright.

My last year of trick or treating was 16. granted I looked about 14 lol.

I'm 18 now, never too old for parties, decorating, dressing up, or going to haunted houses.

But don't trick or treat with little kids once you're almost an adult...that's...weird. lol

well...if you mean trick or treating, then I would say your too old at about 14-15 but for anything else, like dressing up, then your never too old! at least IMO. Heck, I'm 18 and this year, I'm dressing up as Eyeless Jack from Creepypasta and going to a costume party with my girlfriend! After that, I'm gonna use it to scare the feces out of little kids and teenagers alike as they Trick Or Treat! DON'T JUDGE ME! IT'S HALLOWEEN!! MWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!!
