I would say between a closet brony and fan, don't think it'll change, I have no intention of buying merchandise. I won't spread the show and don't feel I have to.

 

I'm a fan in a sense that I will watch the show, but don't care too much if it ends, if it does, I will leave.

I would have to say I'm just a regular brony. I do buy shirts and stuff like that and as you can all see I join fan sites and other things like that, but I don't devote all of my time to it. For example at the moment Halo 4 is more important than getting a new brony shirt.

OT - I would say that I'm somewhere in between a regular and a fan. I buy merchandise, but don't go to meet ups. I dislike purposely doing things to "prove" how much I like the show, and I'm very casual when watching it.

I don't spend money in merchandise at all and I still didn't get much involved into meet-ups, Skype groups and anything like that. I'm also not really open about it all. I mean, if someone asks, I'll surely "admit it". But it's not something I would go around shouting, y'know?

I would say Regular Brony but you seem to weigh merchandise and meetups more heavily than I would. I would say that if you like the show and participate to an extent in the community (by going to forums like these for example or visiting EQD) and enjoy some fan-made content, then you are a regular brony. I think the more dedicated bronies are the ones that use actual money on merchandise.

I would probably go to meetups if it weren't because I'm probably the only brony in 20 km radius.

I'm a Regular Brony and Rabid Brony, I don't care what people say about My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, for in some ways I like having all these haters, it's funny to me and makes me feel like a rebel.

And even if I had an unstoppable killer starships like Reapers under my command I wouldn't use them to force everypony on Earth to become a Brony, for the world would be boring if everypony was a Brony.

I'm just a regular. I do like to watch it, but not necessarily on any set basis. I love getting merch. Wear my wristbwnd and my belt everyday, though, that has somewhat to do with my other main belts buckle being broke. I don't spread it at all unless asked about it,

Same. Except I don't take pony merchandise with me. I don't even have much anyways, just two figures with glitter on them and some trading cards. Including a Fluttershy foil card. I wish I could go make to meetings but in my state, we don't get any.

 

Why not simply start with a local meeting between friends of your school/work? That you could attract and invite other bronies out there who are afraid to come out and be a little social.

This is a complicating question, I don't know which type of brony am I, so I guess I'm just the "Fan" (though I always describe myself as a brony).

 

Also, I just don't buy merchandises like my fellow brony friend does (who invented the OC pony named Mellow Rhythm), otherwise to me, it would be a waste of money.

I know the community in general is ok, and like a fair bit of the fan-creations, but i also know all communities has their douchebags, and the brony community is really no exception.

I really like the show, even though i haven't seen most episodes more than once yet (We don't have the Hub where i live).

I have a little merchandise, a crystal pinkie keychain and the wedding and apple family sets, but i would have more if the toystores closest to me had had blindbags and the collector cards ...

I tell people i think might be interested about MLP: FiM, and explain if it seems neccesary.

I'm an odd sort, while I do have pony related things around me often, I never try and recommend the show, saying to those who feel a little put off by it "Its not a show for everyone" as soon as they figure out I am not gonna try and shove the show down their throats it's fine.

And if they like it, great, we chit chat about it.

I've recommended it once, and that's because it's very much that girls' humour, and she liked it.

Saying that I generally keep my distances from the community, I don't go to meet ups and at cons bring more dolls then ponies

Rabid Brony: Ponies are a huge part of your life. Everywhere you go, and whenever you meet someone, you always want to spread MLP:FiM. Much of the merchandise you brought have an image of a pony printed on it. You get insulted when someone calls ponies gay, and always uses phrases from the show everywhere. You always participate in Brony meetups, online sites, etc.

 

Regular Brony: Ponies have made you happy and you regularly watch the show for fun. You buy a fair amount of merchandise, but you do save money on other stuff as well. It doesn't bother you much when anti-bronies call bronies gay, because as long as you love the show, it doesn't matter who else thinks of the show. You try and attend Brony meetups often, but if you missed one, it won't have a huge impact on you being a brony.

 

Fan: You like the show, but you don't think much of the community. You don't buy the merchandise often, or participate in meetups. Sure, ponies were fun to watch, but you'll lose interest after it ends or has a long season wait.

 

Closet Brony: You are a pretty big fan of MLP:FiM, but you don't want to tell anybody in case they embarrass you or bully you for it. You don't spread the show often.

I'm a regular brony. Although, the community and fan-made things mean more to me than the show itself. Also, I've bought no merch. However, I'd read a metric ****-ton of fanfiction. Of my two thousand some odd pictures on my PC about nine hundred are ponies.
