Have you tried to convert your friends, and if so, how?

Did you to the traditional way in just showing your friends an episode, or maybe showing them all fan made stuff?

I might as well share one of my stories. I, and my friend whom had converted me, decided to convert one of our other friends, but it didn't work. The non-converted one then decided to tell a completely other friend about it, and then the non-converted friend became hooked. So, it sort of worked unintentionally with another person we didn't really had in mind plan to convert the non-converted friend's friend. (friendception)

My fiancee watches the show with me every time a new episode comes out,

but he's not a brony.

~

He doesn't like the show, but watches because he's a good hubby :)

If I ever get in a relationship... I hope I have a girlfriend who would watch it with me. Consequently, I think I'm talking for a lot of members on the forums who would agree with me. :P

well i tried to convince my friends to without telling them im a brony (they still dont know) but they didnt take the bait which is rather sad because sometimes i just want someone i can physically talk to about the show.

You can't force your partner to like it, but I at least he appreciates he makes an effort :) ~

My best friend, he likes the show and such, but doesn't take part in online things or keep up to date with anything. He makes pony jokes and watches youtube vids with me. He says his a "supporter" but not actually a Brony himself, and I respect that.

Yup, I successfully converted 2 people, but lost a lot of respect from other friends. :(

Mostly on the internet.

I converted a friend totally by accident. I specifically told him NOT to watch it, but he did anyways. I guess reverse psychology DOES work.

Never tried it. I think people should start to watch it on their own. Sure, I've said things like 'You don't know what you're missing!' and stuff like that, but I never told them to locate the nearest PC with internet access and watch an episode.

No, I don't try to push something onto someone. I have mentioned the show to my friends, all of them having varying opinions. Some like it but aren't really bronies/pegasisters so that's explainable

I do find it hilarious with the reaction of one of my friends, Sean. Last year of highschool for him, he's dealing with bronies who are constantly telling him to watch the show xDD it cracks me up

He does find it funny of some of the scenes though, "Those bronies in my school? Remember? They showed me some clips, one of which where it looked like Fluttershy was snapping a bears NECK! WHAT!? HOW"S THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!" See how that's hilarious? His reaction is priceless given how he doesn't know how to react to the show, he knows it's an awesome show but he's so confused about it, seeing how a series of toys can get a great show

His reactions are hysterical xD

I've converted one person, the second person who've I tried didn't work out so well. Before he looked at me like I was some nerd, which I am, but now he looks at me like I'm some Lauren Faust worshiper who gets off to animals. Oh well, we're still cool together.

Not really. I've suggested the show to a few friends, but I never pushed the show or kept nagging them until they watch it.

I hate it when people do stuff like that - if someone doesn't want to watch the show, or they don't like it, that's their business. If you keep pushing it on them after they say no, that just annoys them. That's one of the reasons why some people hate bronies/MLP - because people keep trying to shove it down their throats when they don't want to watch it.

I met a brony at school, impossible to convert anyone at my school. They're all brony haters for no reason! They're retarded anyway...

Being a closet brony, I attempt to NEVER mention it to my friends. Although, some friends ask me about it, and I tell them it's crap. That's the way I *accidentally* converted 3 people. I wish I could come out of the brony closet, but my parents already know about bronies, and they all say it's really gay.

Did you have more friends that were indifferent about it? Or did you see anyone being more of a real friend to you?

Dont shove ponies down peoples throats. If you shove ponies down peoples throats, you're going to have a bad time.

1 1/2 conversions completed to date.

First one (which is the half-brony) I converted initially took a little convincing, but he's seen every episode and likes them-though he's afraid to call himself a brony.

Second one considers himself one, as he looks at lots of fan videos and very much enjoys the clips from the show, as well as talking about the show, but he's never seen a full episode, but that's gonna change when we take the ultimate brony challenge next week!

I post a few links on Omegle sometimes. But that's about it-I don't want to be one of "those" that give the brony-haters another reason to hate.

I'm not trying to convert him, but my brother seems to be taking an interest in the show, as he watches a bit with me before he leaves on wednesday and friday mornings- he's starting asking me questions about it and he basically proclaimed Applejack as his favorite pony. :)

No, I just don't wanna push it in their face to like something they might not enjoy. It just has to happen naturally for the person to actually feel welcome to the community and not having felt pressured into it.
