What's something that's suddenly made you feel AWESOME?

For those of you who don't know, I'm an avid writer with not quite enough time on his hands. I've only published one fanfic (the only one that's finished so far), but that was almost a year ago.

 

Last night someone messaged me, desperately wanting to know when I'd be writing again. I thought it a little silly, since I'm nowhere near an expert level, but I told him I was felt very honored that someone appreciated my writing, and that I was planning on publishing something in the next few months.

 

Out of curiosity, I checked the stats for my old fanfic, and I found out that I had 31,000+ views!

 

THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND?!?

getting my first job...though I don't work there anymore, it was awesome getting hired for the first time with a good starting payment.

 

but I think what made me feel more awesome than ever in my life, it might be when I won first place in a animation contest (nov 2011) over youtube, the constest was completely international, and I won a pack of paid flash tutorials (animation + actionscript) and a wacom bamboo tablet that was shipped to my country

Nice! I have a tablet, but I can't draw...great combo, isn't it? (I asked for and subsequently received it for Christmas, but using it was much harder than I first thought it would be. )

Together we are way past awesom then anybody would ever be!

I have two chapters of a fic posted and I have a (pitifully small) following and two people vying for becoming my "Number One Fan". I still don't know how to respond to this development.

 

Also, I ran at the Olympic Trials and my relay team DIDN'T take last, despite being one man short.

Whenever a hot girl laughs at a joke I make. It also gives me another feeling but I can't talk about that here (joking). But yeah I consider myself an amateur comedian and my friends find me hilarious but whenever a hot girl or really just anyone I'm not friends with laughs at one of my jokes I feel great.

Reaching 1,000 total views on my youtube channel. I'm know other people have done better in a shorter period of time, but I had a pretty awesome feeling. Also when I one first place in my first miniatures painting competition, one of the other guys there always won every painting competition he was in.

One time, with my band playing a live concert, there were about 50-60 people there and we were playing our catchiest song. We were pretty nervous this show, because it was out new drummer's first show with us.

 

After mine and the rhythm guitarist's epic guitar battle, we had a part where all instruments stop playing and you just sing the chorus, but before I could start singing it, the WHOLE crowd was singing it out loud. They didn't even know our lyrics let alone our NAME.

 

People came up to us afterwards to get a picture and we ended up forgetting to say our name, but that night on Facebook we gained 30 new fans. Made us all feel pretty great.

I feel awesome any time that i get scouted for a gaming team, usually they are just low level ones, i did get scouted for a low ranking COD 4 pro team with Coolermaster sponsorship, that was cool but it got boring very fast.

 

The most awesome i have felt is when i gave out a draft version of the first 2 chapters of my book and everyone got back to me saying it was fantastic.

Most of mine are little things that make me say "hell yeah, I'm awesome". Most of these are internet based. Some examples:

 

People mentioning me by name (in a positive way) in conversations that have nothing to do with me, online or IRL.

Stuff I say being not only well liked, but being unusually well liked (a post of mine being "popular" here, having a top comment on a YouTube video)

Specific recognition that something I did, said or made was awesome (fanfic, game, mod, quote, etc.)

Someone quotes something I said in their signature (I've seen something I once said on a minecraft forum in 4 signatures so far, some of them even still have it as their sig over a year later. I feel like a fucking boss).

The day I got my driver's license 2 1/2 years ago. When I finished my driver's ed course a year prior, I lost the book I was supposed to study the day I got it. So I went an entire year without studying. Then the day of my test arrived when I was 16. I passed both tests the first time, and to add on to that, the song We Are the Champions by Queen came on the radio when I was driving home.

Winning an auction for a very rare old telephone, just to be asked by the seller if I wanted another rare one for the same price as well (that meant no bidding or losing money, or even losing the auction, no stress!). These things have been on my wish list for 10+ years, and they were "new in box, with box and manual" conditions from the year 1960!

Just something small, like whenever I get a simple compliment on my artwork or when my artwork makes a person happy.  I always enjoyed and willing to take requests for anyone who’s interested and never believe in commissions. Period. I hate the idea of using your skills to gain money or fame. The self satisfaction and the values is giving, is more rewarding.
Hence It’s probably why I will never make it as a professional artist.
