I'm currently reading 'Black Beauty' because horses, natch. Nah, I saw it in a charity shop and decided to pick it up. It's actually a much easier read than I was expecting, I'm speeding through it, and for someone who isn't that fond of actual real-life non-technicolor equines, it's pretty good.

I am an experienced cook, musician and care worker though, so that's something.

'Jaws' by Peter Benchly. Yep, the one the historic Spielberg movie was based on. I haven't seen the movie so it's mostly all new to me. When it's describing a shark attack it actually makes me feel genuinely tense. Well done Pete. However I'm about halfway through and it's getting into middle-aged marriage drama which caught me off guard.

Omitting all the college texts I need to read *yay* I'm currently going through The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. It's the battle of Gettysburg from all the different general's point of views. I'm trying to slowly psych myself up for joining re-enactments sometime next year.

I am currently reading "The Hound of Baskervilles" (Sherlock Holmes). When I am done, I plan on starting "Lamb: The Story of Biff, Christs Childhood Pal". I have also been meaning to pick up a copy of "Trainspotting". It's one of my favorite movies, and the book is supposed to be really good.

Just started reading 'The Rule Of Claw' by John Brindley. I'd never heard of it before but it had a strange premise so I picked it up. It's a strange one. There's quite a heavy 'Lord Of The Flies' vibe (which I hated in school by the way) but with a few more fantastical elements. Children living in a deserted surf resort fighting a city of feathered raptor people anyone?

My university timetable includes a 3 hour break on one day, and a 2 hour break on another. My phone doesn't have enough battery to last that long, and I refuse to bring handheld consoles out with me anywhere unless I'm going to a friends house. So naturally, a book is really the only option I have, which is great, as it gives me something to do, but I also just need to get back into reading in general, so I bought the count of monte cristo the other day, and I cannot wait to starts reading it. This may be the first time I'm looking forward to have nothing to entertain myself with just so I can think "Well, I guess I have to read my book"

And just as I refuse to bring gaming things to my uni (not including my phone for maybe 30 minutes of app games) I also refuse to read my book at home. It'll last longer, and give me something to look forward to every time I get a break rather than reading it at home just before I go to bed, then again in uni, then again when I get home. I just feel like I'd get sick of it if i read it that often, and I really want to like it, will start as soon as I can

I recently started to re-read all of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories. I'm reading them in order. I've finished "A Study in Scarlet" "The Sign of the Four" and the first short story collection "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". I'm almost finished the second collection "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes". I just started on the short story, "The Greek Interpreter" today.

For my British Literature class, I am currently reading Doctor Faustus. For entertainment, I am reading Wuthering Heights. Again. lol :D I just love the story of Heathcliff and Catherine. And I must admit that Doctor Faustus is pretty awesome.

Lauren Faust always makes me think Doctor Faust. (Common shortening and modernizing of the name) I wonder if she made a similar deal to create an insanely popular show?
